Agree. I also hope they don’t butcher the drive train the way they did the 3rd gen Taco.

    I’m betting they do. So I bought a 2020.

Love my AMP steps. Had the NFab on my 4Runner before this and tell everyone who will listen that AMP are the way to go. Just a little spendy

Amen to that brother. I owned a 2005 Tacoma TRD OR with the 4.0 and 5 speed auto. That little truck had balls. Years later I traded for a 2016 Taco TRD OR with the 3.5 and 6 speed auto. Nice little truck, but it wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a gnats ass. Hopefully they won't make the same mistake with the next Gen Tundra.

I was never a fan of NFab steps, not sure what it is about them. The sliders and AMP’s look much better IMO

I went with the Tyger Star Armor steps. They are heavy as crap, all one piece welded, no brackets to install. And they were quite affordable compared to others. Very pleased so far.

Agreed. I had them 10 years ago on an F150. Should have just done them from the start. Good news is I can probably get 70% of my money out of the NFab's....they're in great shape.

That's how I feel...I thought I could like them but the more I look at them the more I see them as the weak link in my setup.

I almost did RCI sliders from the start but my Dad was suffering from dementia and I had to take him to multiple appointments every week so I needed something that hangs lower to help him get in.....we lost him in May so that's no longer a consideration. Since I don't do any serious wheeling, my buddies would probably bust on me if I got the sliders so I may have to stick with the AMP steps.

@Bad Cow Do you have a pic from the side that shows the gap between the step and the cab? One of the things I hate about my current steps is how big that gap is.

That gap between the step and the body is pretty small. It measures 1 3/4 inches both ways, up from the step, and in to the body. Same gap both ways. They fit TIGHT.

I keep trying to talk myself out of the AMP steps but that's where my brain keeps going. I should just stop fighting it and do it. Thanks for the thoughts about may Dad. He's finally relieved of the pain of fighting dementia but we're having a hard time with it. He was truly my best friend and the best person I know. Just trying to live up to his legacy at this point.

Perfect. Thx for the pics. They look great.

Thanks buddy. I pulled the boat, and my father in-law pulled the trailer loaded with the golf cart. Love the Island, one way on, one way off. That bridge in the photo is the only passage by land. We drive down here 2-3 times every year. I will get another photo of the house. It sits on the edge of a point right on the Apalachicola Bay.
