Hey fellows. Got a 2019 crewmax. Love it and love my system (gutted entire system and installed new equipment).
I love my stereo integrity bm12mk5s but I would kinda like to use these for tower theater three way speakers and replace these with a more traditional type sub.
I was looking at the Gately seat brackets after bj Kiser mentioned it.
    Who has these installed?
How much of a bigger box did you use?
What’s the mounting depth of the subs you were able to use.

In these trucks you wind up using shallow mount subs and I love mine as I am set up for as a sq system, but just started thinking.

I don’t have to change anything or really want to but if I could I might be so inclined.

    thanks fellows.

SI should have BMs out any day now. i live in the same town and heard a rumor of them supposedly being delivered finally..... so if you wanted to stay the course they should be available.

those new Hertz shallows look nice but are even more $ than the SI....

i have 2 Arc 10s in a ported box from James at tech12volt with nothing but good to say about them. Steg components in my doors and AudioFrog dash.

there are several "shallower" 8s and 10s that can be ran without moving the seat.

IMO, keep the flat subs in the truck and find something else to use in the home theater three way speakers. There are PLENTY of woofer options that would more easily fit in the home theater speakers, whereas there are a limited number of drivers that will fit in the back of the crewmax. Also, the I don't recall specs for the BM12MKV, but flat subs generally have a lower sensitivity rating than other traditional 12's unless you are going with super long throw woofers with heavy heavy cones. If you use the MKV's in the a home theater build and plan on going active with separate amplifier channels, then it's a moot point - kind of... But leveling matching them in a traditional three design will be more difficult (meaning you get to pad down the mid and tweeter to match the woofer).

As for the new BM11's... @luckystiff I think you need to go do some recon and knock on some doors in your neighborhood - find out if they are really shipping :D I received an "Order Received" email in November (subs orders in April) but nothing since then. Website still shows them as a pre-order.. :(

Yeah. I’ll probably leave it alone. I live in Asheville.
I’m happy with the bm12s but just thinking and seeing what others have done.

I would be doing at least 2 24s in the theater for low end but a three way with si m25, tm65 and bm12. Kinda as a custom tower speaker that’s active.

or even thought about 3 sql10s.

    Not sure.

If you are going active and want to stick with SI, I’d go with the the SQL series. No first hand experience but on paper they look good for most things - small compact enclosure, high power handling, and lots of x max. Means low sensitivity so you are going to need to throw 4x as much power to them as your TM, but I can’t say I haven’t thought about using them in a set of tower speakers..

BTW, the SQL 12 has twice the cone area as the 10 - which is more than typical when goin up one size, but makes sense with the big surround and healthy voice coil. It needs twice the box size, too, but is still very reasonably sized for a driver that tunes to 24hz vented. AND your SPL rating is much higher so fewer watts = more volume or extension, and less excursion down low. Personally, I’d rock a pair of those per side. Dang it! I told myself no my drivers this year.. Buuuuut… the BM11’s havens shown up yet, so does that count as buying them..?

I have used every driver except the hst 15 and hst 18.

But mainly im looking to get feed back from folks with moving the seat forward with the brackets and using different drivers than shallow mount.

again, I would not trade the bm12s for anything but just trying new things. The only driver I can get back there is potentially 3 sql10s or possibly a single sql12 if I could figure out how to squeeze it behind the back seat.

If you’re up near Asheville sometime give me a shout. I’m going to be heading to si in Newton in the next week or so to pick up some 24s for a theater build I’m doing. I’ll send you a dm.

I think you should try the gately brackets then report back on what box and subs work best

I am thinking of seeing if 2 dayton ho10's would fit

Right. I was trying to figure out if there was a way to shoehorn in a sql12 since the new ones are about an inch shorter mounting depth. Either that or the sql10 with passive radiator.
I should just leave everything alone as my system is awesome now.
I am going to be putting either the infinity 203s in the dash or modify it and put an m3 in the dash.

you know. I was looking at the stock a pillar and they actually angle the tweet in there but if I cut in an m25 they don’t angle the same. Glad I got a dsp that can handle such issues. Lol

there was another guy here or on the facebook group that made his own seat brackets.... i think his moved it forward 2.5-3" and up like 1" or something.....

my background is welding and fab but i retired from that 10 or so years ago and do ADAS Diagnostics and Calibration now..... i keep saying i'm going to take the time to mock up some seat relocation brackets but that's on a long list of stuff. I've had everything to do my amp swap and possibly change front stage for well over a year and it just sits..... just like the suspension changes i have everything to do but haven't....

but the brackets would be fairly simple to do...... i don't know how much the Gately versions cost......

ill have to see what my buddy with the CNC mill thinks 10 or so sets would cost to produce..... maybe even make the floor mount bolts slotted for a 1-3" or 2-4" range.... i think 3" puts the edge of the seat even with the the edge where the floor rises so going more than 4" would get a little goofy......

Oh boy oh boy. Cant wait. I was talking to Nick today about a couple of possible things I could do if these brackets work.

I even thought about adding another si bm12 mk5. I would have three of them.

must resist………. I want to put new suspension lift under my tundra. Priorities suck.

I can’t recommend the Eibach Pro Truck kit enough… I’ve been 1000% happy with it in my truck and I used to build custom suspension for hot rods before my arthritis got to bad to do fab work…..

did you get the gately brackets installed?

also, what are the speaker grills you use for your si m3 on the dash?

I decided to do a three way si set up after the meet this weekend in VA.

Just ordered a set of brackets from Gately this morning. Ouch! $560 with freight! But, it's what will be needed to make this fat speaker fit...

Nothing absurd. Just a 12” DD Audio SL600. Still a “shallow” sub, but not super shallow. Pretty decent excursion on it, so the added space behind the seat is a plus for clearance. Also, trying to get as much volume as we can squeak out, and the port takes up a lot of room.

This should have been done a couple months ago, but between a kiddo in club volleyball, a wife dealing with some radiation treatment, short Oregon winter days, the nonstop rain, and life in general, the box has taken a back seat a handful of times. It’s getting there…
