Couldn’t find this anywhere so thought I’d share..

Went out fishing the other day, pretty isolated lake that took some off-roading to get to. Truck handled it just fine, but I noticed that next morning my fuel gauge was stuck just below a quarter even when turned off. After some research I found with our older trucks sometimes all that vibration can cause our “fuel-sender” unit to mess up or go off completely (like mine). Replacing it would be a b*tch, requiring either taking the bed off or dropping the tank. Sometimes hitting the top of the dash works if it’s the gauge cluster itself, but if not issue is def down below. I went and put some gas in the tank, while it was pumping I hit the gas tank a good 6-7 times, came back up and my gauge was back to normal. Just in case anyone has that same issue :D..

Glad all is well. Wasn't even aware this was an issue. This is going in the back of the brain cavity.
