I would definitely mock it up before you drill the rear holes. It might have enough room. The AT campers sit pretty high.

Does that make you want to box in the rear C channel part or your frame?

It does. I'm sure I'll do it in the future, but no timeline. My truck is super heavy, so I would definitely benefit from doing it.

We went for a "quick" trip yesterday and ended up pulling 4 vehicles out of the ditch. Lots of winching and digging.

I need some opinions. For the wind fairing on the rack I'm building I'm considering running 5 ¾" amber marker lights. I will space them evenly and not like standard cab lights. Any thoughts?

Lights it is then. As soon as my extrusion comes in and I can assemble the rack I'll get a wind deflector drawn up and cut.

Yeah I wouldn't have half the mods I currently have if I couldn't build it. I love having all the tools to build it.

I finally got my roof rack/wind fairing done. I still need to wire the lights but I think it turned out good. It may not hold much but it makes the camper and roof look better together without the huge air gap underneath the camper. I may end up throwing some traction boards or something up there. I missed having a set of boards on our last snow run.

They are actually in the wind fairing in those pictures. They are just 3/4" led marker lights.

These are them. They are an amber light with a smoked appearance.

Is there a reason, other than aesthetics, that you didnt go higher than the face of the camper? To cut the wind over the camper?

I wanted the keep the ability to run a box or boards on top of the rack. If I kept the wind fairing going at the same angle it would have made the top platform unusable.

I got the rack permanently installed and the holes sealed this afternoon. Also got the lights wired up.

We went on a family Christmas tree run this last weekend. New tires have been impressive in rocks, mud and snow. I have no complaints about them so far.
