Wow. So the stock wheel and tire weighs 65lbs...which is the same as anything close to 35" E-rated.

I was looking at getting TOYO Open Country AT3 LT285/75R18 and they are 65lbs per tire. So looking at 92lbs per corner. Yikes

Any update on these issues? Is Falken or Toyota doing anything about this. Was really stoked on getting Wildpeaks on our new TRD Pro and been pretty disappointed with the "MildPeaks".

Replying to hopefully hear an answer on this as well. I hadn't realized that Falken had actually commented on this issue, as I am now on my second TRD Pro exhibiting this tire issue. My local Toyota dealers have seemed pretty ambivalent on it and haven't been able to help much.

Mine lasted about 6000 miles and were close to being done when I pulled them off. Discount tire wanted to buy two for $60 and two were trash as they had excessive shoulder wear. Got some BFGs and happy with those.

TRD PRO comes with a bad alignment from the factory, excessive toe in and Chamber. Toyota replaced my tires after they prematurely wore, I got the same tires as replacement unfortunately. The tire depth is awful, 6/32 I couldn’t believe it.

Wow I'll keep an eye on mine swapped a set of TRD Pro onto my Off Road. Cost 1 MPG highway over 265/60/20. Weight is about a wash 285/65/18 tire is little heavier but pro wheel is lighter. They do ride well and aren't very noisy. I've only put 5000 miles on them but seem to be wearing even. Rotated 1000 miles ago. For all I'm going to ask of the truck they are fine if they go at least 30k miles.

Has anyone gotten Toyota to do anything about this? If so, how? Seems asinine that they are doing this. FWIW, I reached out to my sales manager and he acted dumbfounded. I reached out to Toyota Brand Engagement and they act dumbfounded. Someone obviously knows something, but they aren't going to admit it given that creates big problems for them.

just because you put on Pro wheels does not mean you will have the issue. Its an alignment spec issue, not a wheel and tire issue.

There's been a recall or TSB for TRD Pro owners where they will align front and replace tires that have wear at their discretion. Not sure at what point they started correcting it at the factory...I need to get mine scheduled for a number for recalls & regular checkup. I'm glad I won't have to convince them & make calls to Toyota corporate to get it taken care of.

Im 4,000 miles into my second set and they’re wearing worse than the first set even though Toyota supposedly gave me an updated alignment. Toyota definitely isn’t the only one to blame since Falken decided to produce a garbage tire that can wear so easily.

For sure main thing is hopefully they are finally getting the alignment right with the proper heights...that seemed to be an issue for a while is they didn't even have the proper specs. There's been a few threads with folks discussing the alignment specs and one of them posted some heights that need to correct for the Pro for proper alignment. The rubber is definitely softer which makes for a more quiet ride and more grip...blame Toyota though it's their specs that they developed with Falken for the tires.

I'm thinking I will get mine taken care of...hopefully they'll just replace all 4 tires but the front 2 are better than nothing, also hoping they'll check back alignment as well. From that point I will have a proper 4x4 shop check the alignment again.

Posting my current 2023 TRD Pro alignment specs as some may find this info useful as I am now getting normal, even wear with stock Mildpeaks (I have a one inch lift front and rear).
    Camber: .2 each side
    Caster: .31 and .32
    Toe: .07 each side

After my initial alignment at ~500 miles I had .4 camber and .10 toe both on each side and it was still causing a minimal amount of additional wear on the outside so I had my guy dial it down to .2 camber and .07 toe.

Keep in mind that the stock Pro Tires wear quickly no matter what your alignment specs are and this is only multiplied with the poor alignment from factory. With these specs the truck drives great with 10K on the odometer. I expect to get around 25K on these tires because they just cant handle the weight of the truck. 25K will leave me with 3/32" on the stock Pro tires and at that time I will go to 35's. Find a decent alignment shop with Hunter racks and a tech that can get you to the specs you need. The dealership guys are typically clueless and will not work with custom alignments, often only perform toe and go's, or use incorrect specs altogether. If a shop wont let you into the garage to watch them align your vehicle go somewhere else.

No magic here...tire wear will be best with 0 camber and just a touch of toe in with as much positive caster as possible will give best handling and tire wear anywhere but a track day...specs are just a guideline

Theres a TSB on it. Pro Tundras in the date range get a free alignment with new specs and potentially new tires.

Do you know the TSB number? I tried searching for it with no luck.
