Holy shit - I'm currently experiencing this very same issue! I'm at 17,000 miles and the tires are completely gone on the outer edges. The dealer never mentioned anything to me and since my truck is only 1 1/2 years I figured I had plenty of tire tread left. I'm now shopping for my next tire set, but I am unsure which to get.

Toyota’s factory specs for toe are wrong. Bring total toe in to 0.15 or less and the outer wear will stop.

So do I have the alignment shop do this? I just recently got it aligned, but I forgot the settings they used.

A good alignment guy will throw away OE settings. If your alignment guy doesn’t ask how you drive, find a new place. The alignment can be tailored to how you will be wearing the tires

IMO those Duelers are sh!t... when I bought my truck back in 07, I lived out in the desert in the middle of nowhere and I kept getting flats not even 5k miles into them. It got so bad that I was rotating my spare tire into the tire rotation as I kept having to get patches. Within the year I dumped them for some Wranglers, and am now I'm on some German no name brand. Never had that type of wear on mine on any tire, then again, I didn't make 10k on the dueler before I got rid of them.

I’m noticing this issue mainly on my front tires, the sidewall starting to wear sooner than the rears. I do 90% city driving with lots of turns. My alignment is correct, and I’m running Goodyear Adventurers with Kevlar that I purchased 3000 miles ago. It’s not bad yet but noticeable now at 3000. I’m going to rotate them soon, as I expect lots of city driving is the culprit and this post all but confirms it for me. Next tire purchase I’ll be looking for something to counter this.

Yes all the turning is what is wearing out the tires. Nascar changes the outside tires more often for a reason
