    Hi all,

What do you recommend on the black painted rims to maintain the high gloss?

Since it’s a high heat area.

If your wheels are a high heat area, I'd take a look at fixing the brakes before I looked for a high temp wax product.

Treat the rims the same way you treat the paint on the truck. Keep in mind black shows hazing easier and brake dust will scratch them if you aren’t delicate with it. Polish and wax as you would a black truck. Maybe get some specific wax for black if you like.

    Tom,

I didn’t mean glowing red hot. Just a hotter area than the rest of the truck

    Sean,

I did use the same wax as the rest of the truck on the rims last fall I just was wondering if there are different waxes out there for black painted rims

    Thanks for the reply

    I found this stuff today!

    Makes them glossy and new.

The biggest issue with a protectant for your wheels is heat. I use McKees Wheel Coating on my tundra, and my wife's Sequoia...great stuff. PoorBoys also makes a wheel sealant, which I've used with good success as well. Finish Kare HiTemp Wax is supposed to be able to take up to 250 degrees.
