Going to pick these up to mount up that lid. The washers are sitting at 10mm OD and the rubber washers are sitting at 11mm OD. Should look pretty good I’m hoping.

I may do the clear lid on my Stillen also.I already got rid of the junk fastners on the lid but ordered some red ones that would look good with the clear lid.Hey what's the breather on the braided SSPXL_20240921_011623422.jpg hose ? Purpose?

I think Rene had said the socket caps were rubbing his hood so he swapped back out to button caps.

I’m going to replace the one Stillen gave me with some longer ones, not sure how long those ones are but I’ll get the 16mm and try those out.

The SS hoses are my secondary AIP relocate. Known problem for that secondary AIP to be clogged up and cause the truck to go into limp mode. This puts the breather to be up higher and so dust or debris won’t be able to clog the pump.

Aww man that's awesome! Glad it made it's way to you in one piece. I know my packaging is crap. I just wanted to get it out to you asap. I hope the overhang isn't too bad for you. It can be sanded down if it interferes with anything. Let me know if you have any issues with it at all and I can send you out another one. I have 2 other ones available that have zero overhang.

Yeah @BR73, You just want to be mindful of which bolts you plan to use. The Stillen box is so tall so adding tall headed fasteners MAY interfere with clearance when you close the hood. I just had 1 of the fasteners that looks like it scratched the underside of the hood. I ordered a few different sets of fasteners to test. I also ordered some red aluminum ones that should be arriving soon.

Was test fitting it on top, seems like it’ll clear the hood struts just fine! But I’ll let you know!

I had one of the screws that came with the kit hit my hood as well. I'm thinking it is because I need to tighten the 2 bolts down some more.

I bought this tinted acrylic at McMaster Carr. I don't remember what they called it. This is not bronze, the color is off slightly because of the lighting. I believe it was a dark grey. The first couple I made I made with a dremel tool. Later ones, I cut on a laser. The logo on this cover is laser etched, then I painted it red to match the truck.

Never heard of McMaster Carr, Thank you! This is an amazing site. It's got literally everything you can possibly imagine on here to buy or even for reference. I'm seeing bolts that I never knew existed. This is great!

Btw, I may need to buy another battery hold down from you soon. Mine is being eaten my my sweating battery :( Maybe just need to repaint it after I replace my battery.

Better hurry, he doesn't have many battery hold downs left.

Did you happen to see my post in the main thread about the shroud and intake tube?

I think I did see mention of that. It was about the intake tube sticking to far forward from the shroud, right? I don't have that block off piece but I do have the issue of the shroud being kind of flimsy causing itself to be pushed back over the intake tube making it look like yours. I feel like the opening of the intake tube and shroud needs to be flush with eachother to capture as much air.
I'm sure if I take my grille off right now, they won't be flush. Last time I had my grille off I was thinking of cutting a couple small holes in the shroud and ziptie it. Lemme go take it off real quick and see... I'll snap a couple pictures..

I might email them just to see what their thoughts are on where the tube sits versus being flush.

Yep, just as I expected. Pulled off my grille and sure enough, the shroud is pushed back too far..
    20241004_060456.jpg

So I'm thinking of cutting small holes in the left side of the shroud to pull it back then push the intake tube in as much as I need to to make it flush. In your case I'm wondering if you'll have to cut a piece of your tube off.

Right here I have the tube pushed as far back as possible and I've found it like this as well..

I'll hit them up and see what they say performance wise. IMO I think cosmetically it looks better protruding versus being flush. It seems that the intake tube almost needs raised notches for the edge of the shroud to sit between. I have an idea in mind for those 2 mounting bolts as well.

Yeah it'd be interesting to see what they say... Since I'm in Cali, I'm gonna have to be taking my kit off and on so I made mounting the box simpler. I didn't use the grommets from the stock box. I just used stacked rubber washers and that made the install so much easier.

Since I had of right now...

This is what I had in mind to pull the left side of the shroud back. Just a couple small holes in the shroud and a few zipties n it should hold it in place(just a temporary solution)
    20241004_062939.jpg

It may be the tinniest difference between flush or protruding but I feel flush would capture a fraction bit more air.

There’s no difference because IAT will reach ambient temps almost immediately as long as there is sufficient airflow going through.

My IAT gets to ambient in less than a minute once I’m on the freeway, not the case when driving in town/city.

Best way to combat this is to just adjust the front air ram and have it touching the shroud as much as you could and then tighten down the hose clamp.

Is the silicone coupler for the intake tune a 3"? I want to remove the block off filler and install a longer coupler to give it a cleaner install.

Not sure on the top of my head. I don’t see why you can’t get a longer coupler instead of the 2 piece coupler for the block off plate.

Do you think the TRD cold air intake accelerator would wrap around the tip of that and fit in their nice and snug? Grabbing more air just curious if I got an extra one

Yeah like @Tundra234 said, it'll fit. @pvn.beluga was able to get his to fit without any cutting. I took about 1inch off my fender tube to get mine to fit and used a hose clamp to snug it down. Didn't want my accelrator to go to waste plus I didn't like that the Stillen fender tube doesn't have a tight seal. With the accelerator, it's perfect.
