Stereo Software Update

Anyone else get a downloadable software update recently? I was prompted when I started up this morning. Install was flawless but I'm curious what features/bugs were deployed with this update.

 

I have a 15 too but nothing yet

 

I noticed that there is a new Alexa app installed. Haven't tried it yet.

 

I also got the update on a 2018...cant find anything about it but will keep looking.

 

2018, no updates that I can see.

 

I regret updating my stock 2014 1794 jbl sound system. Did it manually by USB like 2 months or so ago. Downloaded from their website.
It gave me 2 apps that only work through the Toyota app on your phone when logged into it.

It added iheart radio and another app I forgot, but it's super annoying now.
Now I have to cycle through them when using the steering wheel buttons when switching between FM radio and siriusxm and USB and they both are slow and hang waiting for connection to your phone toyota app which I had to log out of to stop it connecting and taking even longer to allow me to switch sources past it.

The system was already slow enough switching sources, now I almost want to rip it all out but I like all the factory integration which would be lost if I replaced it.

I noticed Alexa was a new app installed on the head unit. Maybe that's new for you as well?

 

To note, I was prompted to download and install the update through the head unit. it then used my phone to download the software and then completed the install while I was driving. This was not a USB-based software update.
