    Hey errybody.

I am trying to replace the stereo in my 2003 Access Cab Tundra. I bought a Pioneer stereo, not sure the exact model but I can check if needed, and I absolutely can not figure out how to bypass the factory amp and power the stereo.
I've spliced the wires from the new stereo to a harness that fits into the harnesses coming from the bottom of the amp, but the stereo is not turning on. I've consulted my BIL who used to work on cars for a living and he's also at a loss.

I am very new to the car stuffs and any help is appreciated, thanks y'all!

The amp gets deleted with an aftermarket unit.

How do I power the new stereo without using the amp?

For clarification, the harness I bought does not fit onto what was plugged into the factory stereo.

You should have an adapter harness that wires in and connects your truck to the stereo. 12v power is in that.
Once you remove the amp it’s straightforward

May have the wrong harness. Go to crutchfield and verify it’s correct.

@Bekah0306 please read the "Audio, audio upgrades and cameras..." section of this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

It will answer most of your questions. It also has links to ALL the harness part numbers, how to install the harness, etc. DO NOT CUT YOUR FACTORY HARNESS.

And Crutchfield is online. They ship fast. They provide free phone support for your install. Super helpful, and their pricing is not only typically cheaper than scAmazon, but they also give you all the little adapters and crap you need to make your experience plug-and-play. They'll even make wire harnesses for you, for a small upcharge. They're a full-service shop, they've been around for decades.
