What does everyone use for reaching the center of their hoods? I realize I could pick up a wash mitt with a wand for washing, but that doesn’t help for drying or polishing the vehicle.

I’m only 5’6, so I’ve been hopping up on a tire but that’s a PIA and will end up wrecking my ankle one of these days on the way down. Always afraid stools are going to slip on the wet floor and scratch my truck.

    Thoughts?

My step stool butts up against the chrome bumper or tire. Nothing it can scratch if it slips or tips. The “handle” aka the tallest part of the stool wouldn’t get near the paint even if it did slip.

I use a milk crate for the hood and windshield. For the roof I usually just open a door and stand on the door sill. Every now and then I'll use a step ladder but it scares the hell out of me so that's very rare. I want to get one of those folding step stool things at some point

I saw a post on IG from SEMA of a tool that you stand on in front of your truck, move a lever and it rotates you to where you are laying over the engine bay looking down onto the motor.. I’ll post a pic if I find it again.

Searched everywhere a few years back and finally found it at "Unique Concepts." Lots of drilling and hardware- buying but I'm pleased with it.

A guy I know ,local fireman and his short wife, came up with that "moki step", sold it on shark tank for a couple million. It kills me cuz there have been similar designs and knockoffs available for years, even before he sold his patent and idea.
