    what trans and engine do you have? this could definitely be related to what I mentioned earlier. Has to do with the locking on TC for overdrive

    My experiance with Tundra's with oversize tires like a little more pressure then what it says on the door jam. Try adding 5-10 more psi and give it a try and see if it still shakes. Usually this fixes that shake if balancing is not the issue. Just my 2 cents worth.

    any chance you know someone with stock tundra wheels and tires you could swap just to test?

    @Cg13055 I have a 2007 4.6L V8. Just the regular 6 speed transmission

    @joseph_womack I unfortunately don't know anyone with stock tundra tires in a close distance. My rims are custom with the hankook tires. I was also thinking of swapping out if I could.

    Thanks for the responses, been busy last couple days.

    @frichco228
    Thanks for the detailed response. It does seem to be an unusual balancing issue. It seems less aggressive and certain tires such as the michelins S2/M2s seem to help others. Im thinking ill eventually have to swap tires and rims at some point.

    My rear shocks were leaking a little bit last the technicians checked. The fronts did seem fine. But I will definitely keep that in mind.

    Shouldn't it be the 4.7? I don't think the 4.6 was made until 2010, but anyway, did you ever get the wheels and tires balanced and road force tested?

    @joseph_womack oops, yea I meant 4.7. Idk why I wrote 4.6 lol. The balancing and alignment did not help. Noticed quite a bit of shaking the other day. I asked the tech that if he recommended road force balancing, to go ahead. But I don't think he did. Since normal balancing did not help, Ill most likely take it in again for road force balancing, if yall think it will make a big difference. Never done road force balancing before.

    Is it just the steering wheel or the whole truck? And to be honest I'm not too sure if it will help a ton either

    @joseph_womack well after driving some more, I noticed its driving smoother and shaking less at 60mph than before the balancing. At 70mph+ it still shakes, seems like abit more actually. Intermittent shaking as usual. Takes a min or two to stop shaking.

    Just the steering wheel shakes.

    Not sure what I'm going to do next. Maybe take it in for a second opinion but not really optmistic atm. Or possibly change out my tires at some point in the future. Will definitely update the forum when the time comes. Thanks for the input yall

    It's good
    I know wheels tires alignment and suspension geometry can cause similar problems. But doesn't the intermittent part, assuming same speeds, torque, etc, sound like a bearing or joint? I'm only asking, but intermittent sticks with me.

    @alb1k the intermittent part is what confuses me. Based on what the technician said, the reason why its intermittent is because the balance is off and takes time for it to "balance" and sit in right. Or itll be off balance when turning or sudden bumps etc. Something in that nature. Definitely an unusual issue.

    I dont think its a bearing or joint as im thinking I'd be able to hear a constant drone or have nonstop shaking.

    Anyways I should get a second opinion soon. Get it checked out.

    This may sound dumb, but I had something very similar happen on my daughters V6 Highlander. After rotating, rebalancing, etc with no changes, on a whim I went and changed all the coil packs. It only happened once when I drove it, but I did notice a very slight loss of power ( almost not noticeable) It never through any codes, but couldn’t get it out of my mind that maybe one of the coil packs was missing. It didn’t do it all the time, it just kind of came and went. After replacing all of them, the problem went away. It was a $300 gamble, but it worked out.
