I'm guessing you don't have steering wheel controls?

I got nothing from the wiring diagram. I looked through a lot of the different components and while there were similar plugs, none were in the steering wheel area.

its pre-wired for it. Instead of making multiple configurations of wiring harnesses, they built one that makes things complete so it’s plug and play with most add-ons (like Bluetooth and volume controls). Cheaper from a manufacturing perspective

do you think that plug was pulled out towards the opening then? because when I opened mine, it's clear that theres no plug in mine unless its tucked away somewhere

I added auto headlights & HVAC, all the plugs were tucked up in the nearby wiring. Maybe that's where yours are.

I needed the stalk & sensor for auto headlights.

The AC has nothing to do with the steering wheel, I am pointing out the truck was prewired for several things.

Auto headlights will not be plug-n-play on all trim levels. I think it works for SR5. Check to see if your instrument panel harness has a wiring connector plugged into the non-functional sensor plug at the center of dash. If the harness has the wiring at the plug location, then all you'll need is the light sensor and the auto headlight switch stalk. If there's no wires at the sensor location, then auto headlights will be a pita more difficult. Some get used parts cheaper on ebay. There is a thread on this mod somewhere here, use Search.

I did not know the plug for the light sensor was there and bought it from Japan. The PN did not show up in US dealer searches.
