I do this all the time when I park in my garage, I have to move my truck all the way against the wall which means a hard turn to get it slid into place. All I do is take the pressure off the lock pin in the ignition switch. The steering wheel doesn't move at all, but I have to pull hard on it to relieve the pressure off the locking mechanism. I would suggest having some one in the passenger either pull on the steering wheel or turn the key while you pull on the steering wheel. I now try to remember to relieve the pressure before shutting off the truck, but it doesn't always happen. Good luck!

Turn the steering wheel a bit while you turn the key to On. It will unlock the wheel.

ok... so wtf? i get back in the truck and now there is play in the wheel and it started. maybe my weight bouncing into the truck freed or unbound something?

whatever... i will never turn off the truck when the wheel is fully turned :)

    thanks, guys.
