    Which Refinery are you at? I work at Chevron's Richmond refinery ... Lucky for us, no hurricanes to worry about here, just earthquakes.

    Most of the newer refineries are rated at about 150 - 160 MPH and have safety factors integrated in the designs

    I just saw on the news where the Rockport mayor told his residents to write their SSN and name on their arm with a sharpie and prepare to die if they didn't evacuate...holy shit


    I got a phone call friday putting me on standby to head down there Sunday, but because of other pre-planned stuff, I got pulled off the standby list

    honestly don't blame him. this storm isn't very nice and even though lots left....lots didn't. drowning because of flooding, extreme winds tearing things up causing debris to fly, etc....anything can happen. they were told to evacuate....there isn't anything else he could have done.
