Hey everyone, new to the forum. I’ve got a 2016 Tundra. Sometimes if I let off starting the Tundra too early and it doesn’t start and I try again to start it, it won’t start at all. If I wait about 10 minutes, it will then start. I’ve heard this maybe a security issue maybe. Any ideas?

Not sure I fully understand what's happening. Key start? I've screwed up the system on a few key start vehicle if I released the key from start mode just a split second early. With modern vehicles we get used to how long to engage the starter before the engine fires and runs. I released the starter too early recently on my 21 SR5 w/key and it didn't quite start. Tried but failed. It did start right up on the second try.

Yes! What you are describing is what has happened recently. I release the key from starting too quick and then when I go to restart it, it won’t start. If I wait 5-10 minutes and try again, it starts. Just wondering is it some kind of security issue that I don’t fully start it on the first time that it locks itself out for a few minutes?
