very cool mods , I also would like to have a 3" lift on my 15 TRD off road , but I want to keep the OEM wheels , anyone know a good beefy tire size I could use that wouldnt get lost in the wheel wells?

If it is on Manual Release it just means at this time they are low stocked items. I just went through this process to get new hub caps for rock warrior wheels. Covid has really put a damper on supply chains from over seas. You can get the suspension from sparks parts without a vin last I checked. But for that price there are many better options. Good luck with your choices!!

Not sure what your intended use will be for the truck. As many have said, there are far cheaper ways to get to the PRO look/ride if it is going to live on the pavement. The only thing I can think of that can't be switched is the Climate Control system if the SR5 is still running the 3 knob setup. If it is going to be an off-roader, I would for sure just do the upgrades to an SR5 as you will be able to get everything to a better than PRO state for much cheaper. My current setup including all mods and the cost of the truck is $50k, and it is a vast improvement over a PRO. 117759783_3273067669406227_3127033029665251512_o.jpg

Straight from the source. I mentioned the different interest rates because on the Toyota website when you are "building" the truck, at the final page it estimates payments and every time the SR5 and TRD Pro have different interest rates. I bank through USAA, and perhaps it would be a better move to finance through them?

Yes. I've never seen a risk based loan tier drill down to a specific model. Rate depends on new vs used, FICO score, and length of time financed.

I've seen rates all the way down to 0% in December while financing through Toyota. Thank you for the info.

"Poor man's" or "Smart man's" TRD PRO? THAT is the question! Hell, if I had the money I'd get a PRO in a heartbeat but nothing wrong with making one close to it.

Quick question, are there any pros to swapping 20 inch (my sports) to 18 inch wheels? I saw KTM stated he did that. Just curious....

I bought a top of the line truck before and it was nice for what I needed it for, but with the Tundra I wanted a TRUCK, and bought the lowest grade and priced model I could find with the 5.7L and 4x4.

But now you're dealing with dealer incentives. If you're financing through a bank or credit union this wouldn't apply.

I think there are a couple of threads on here about tire size. I bet a search would turn something up.

Yes. I'm guessing the rims would weigh less, and the tires most certainly will.
Less sidewall = more steel belting. Your fuel economy might go up a little.

Check the build link in my signature.
The TRD Pro is a trim that is run in limited numbers and high demand. Toyota won’t offer dealer incentives or discounted rates on it because they know they’ll still sell them. That’s the same reason so many dealers are asking $5k - $15k over sticker for them as well. But you don’t HAVE to use Toyota for the financing. A lot of dealers have local credit unions they work with to get as good or better deals. I got 1.99% on my truck (I didn’t finance very much of it, but that wouldn’t have mattered) at the dealership through a local credit union that they have a deal with.

Now, for a different perspective from most that are given here:
My previous truck was an ‘08 SR5 TRD Off-Road with the steering wheel audio controls and Bluetooth for the phone (back when the only way to get that was to have the JBL audio system, and when they still offered JBL in the double-cab and in SR5). I got it for a song (relatively speaking - this was ‘09 before truck prices went nuts) and proceeded to upgrade it in all the ways I could think of to make it have the things that were in a Limited that I wanted as well as updating/upgrading exterior parts as well. It took less money than buying the Limited would have at that time, but it also took a lot of time and effort and didn’t happen over night (took me several years to really do everything I wanted).

So, for me, when I was looking at replacing it, I already had a lot of years in the old truck knowing what I liked, what I wished I had, and what I knew I didn’t want. I was looking at going with a Limited (not SR5) and then tricking it out with all the extras to make it like a TRD Pro, and on paper it wasn’t much cheaper (if at all really). And when I considered the amount of time I’d spend chasing down the parts, getting things painted and colormatched, scheduling to have work done, not having the truck while work was being done, etc., the TRD Pro checked the right boxes for me to justify the premium up front. I have kids, other hobbies, a house with property, and a busy job - so my truck is my daily driver and weekend go-everywhere rig (I rarely drive less than 25k in a year, and usually more like 30k). So I bought the TRD Pro, I’ve added a bed liner, have steps on the way, and will put a retractable tonneau cover on it before the end of the year, and I’ll be 90% done with any real work on it and I’ll be out using it every day.

The Pro is the more desired build and more difficult to locate. Toyota probably assumes that customers will pay the higher rate because of demand for the Pro.

How much of a difference in the rates?

You have to factor in the dealer along with Toyota Financial Services. When I bought my Pro last year, TFS and the dealer wouldn't budge on the rate. I went to my credit union, got my rate from them and apologized to my dealer that I had to finance elsewhere. The dealer matched my credit union rate for our agreed purchase price.
I bet @19TurdPro could add some insight.

I’ve had both. Traded my fake pro for a real one. If you are going to do the work yourself you might save a little. The mods won’t change your value to a dealer if you decide to sell it down the road. Or you need to find a buyer that wants those mods. Here is a comparison. My pros private party value on KBB is 42-46. A SR5 with the same specs is 37-41. Add the cost of exhaust, suspension, leather, grill and any interior trim stuff you want. Then add labor if you are not doing the work. Then add labor again to remove the stuff so you can sell somewhere since the dealership will give you little to nothing for the mods and you probably are better off buying the pro.

This is what ultimately made my mind of for me when I bought my Pro. I paid 47.5k for mine with the warranty about 1.5 years ago. It now has 35k on the clock and I got a trade offer on a 21 Pro from a dealership of...........47k. KBB Private Party value is sitting at 51.5k. That's not to say I can get 51.5k private party, but I can promise you I can get at least what I paid for it after 1.5 years of use and 35k miles.

I decided to build my own "pro" as well.

Got a 2021 trail edition package, ordered 17" method race wheels, toyo 35's custom tuned fox 2.5s from accutune, deavers k37s and a 10" exhaust from Dirty Deeds.

I'm still waaaay under what a pro would have cost me (around here they are going for close to 60k), and I'm relatively certain that my truck will eat a stock pro for lunch when it's done. (still waiting on the deavers, exhuast, and rear shocks to show up.)

If there's any takers in the Houston area we can go find out when the rest of my parts get here :)

Downside is the interior isn't as cool, I don't have those cool stamped fenders, and I have a little chrome still.

$1500 and you're still way under. Pretty comfy.

Paying $5k over MSRP made no sense when my overpriced 2018 Sport sat on the lot month after month and was still around during rebate time. It's been a lot of fun building my truck out and I believe, building it much better than a Pro. It won't have the bed stamp, but it's customized to what I like and companies I want to support.

I read every TRD dual v. DD thread and listened to all the videos before deciding to support Keith and pay less. RCI over TRD and RCI is an hour away. Toytec Aluma series is next and they're 30 minutes away. All thanks to this forum, except for the Katzkins.

@sbxx312 I do like to do all the work myself, and can't leave anything stock no matter how it came, so that was another deciding factor lol.
