Alright I have a 2017 Tundra Crewmax with 10k miles. My brakes have been squeaking for about 3k miles. But it only does it when just starting up. I have visually inspected them and they are fairly clean. Even when I had my 10k service done they checked out ok. This is driving me crazy. Has anyone else had this problem this early on?

I have a 2016 and it squeals only during the first brake ... after that it never does!!!
my brakes are fine and there are no issues.
I think it needs to warms up especially if cold or damp.
we discussed this once and not sure if there was a consensus.

Mine does the same thing. But I'm still not ok with the brakes squealing on a new vehicle.

Same with mine. Been doing it since day one. Only on the first time braking backing out of driveway. Dealership says "normal". :notsure:

if brakes are good, you can add some brake grease to the back of the pad. Usually when changing brakes they do it. Maybe yours is all dried out.
Also morning mist/rust will do that too if car sits outside.

Squeeky here too. When its time to change them I'm going to slather them in anti squeek slime.

I don't think that's for squealing. It's to prevent them from locking/sticking to the backing plate. So it's not even on the rotor side which typically cause squeaking. If it's a widespread thing then maybe that how they perform, like buying high performance pads, most of them squeak.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
Lubricant goes on the pins so the pads don’t get stuck in contact with the rotor.
Brake quiet or paste goes on the backside of the pad to help with the noise.

good points. I assume u never want grease or slippery stuff on the rotors ;)

that's true. my co-worker has a fancy sport car and it makes that noise. somewhat annoying since his car makes the noise a lot but my Tundra does it only once and it doesn't bother me! at least I know the brakes are working ... lol

I know this is an old threat, but I just got this same exact problem on my brand new Tundra! And it's annoying the shit out of me. I asked the dealership to take a look and they said they found nothing wrong, except for some slight rotor warping which is super odd. They couldn't replace it, but said to report back in 6 months if it continues. My truck squeaks no matter what when lightly braking. I love my truck and I can overlook, but it's still irritating that my brand new truck is making this noise.

Mine has done it since the day I drove off the lot. It is only that initial stop once I back out of the driveway and hit the brakes. These rotors will literally show rust on them the next morning from driving.

As crazy as it sounds all my trucks have done that just on the first brake. My Silverado did it and even my wife's Accord does it....

I got the same squealing sound when I first got my tundra around mid 2014. Didn't want to go to the dealer because they said there was nothing wrong with it. Complained on the phone and they fixed it. Tech said one of the them is stuck.

mine does it the very first brake after sitting overnight. I Never had them checked since I don't think there is a problem.
My co-worker has a very nice Dodge Charger and the brake noise drives me crazy when we go for lunch but he says they are ok ... I wouldn't like it if my brakes made noise all the time.

Same here. Had Toyota look at it and they said it was common. Said my brakes were fine.

Mine do it all day no matter what. The squeaking is non-stop. The service guy said if it continues by the next service then he will consider changing out the rotors with the warranty. He said there is some warping, which is odd for a new truck isn't it?

Warping can happen if the rotor is wearing unevenly and it's no longer flat or even. Bad brake pads or intermittent touching can cause this.
In a new car, I seriously doubt if calipers or pistons are bad. If they change the rotors, make sure they change the pads as well as they maybe the source of the problem.

Do you have the noise on all wheels?

It's coming from the rear, possibly from the driver's side. I can hear it louder when I drive my objects due to the echo.

That's good news. It's just one wheel. Maybe bad brake pads or rock or something got caught in there.
Go bug them and they will fix it before the next service. Tell them it should not be making noise and other wheels are ok and it's a safety concern ...

Yep mine does it on first stop on a cold morning sometimes when I back out of my driveway sometimes at the end of the street but that's it also sometimes when the it's cold and I pull my boat out of the garage. 2017 37k miles on it and it seemed to start once I replaced the factory tires with LT load range E tires, they really affected my braking and I only went up one size and they are factory width.

Same as what everyone else has said. I noticed it when the temp is below 60 degrees in the morning and only happens the first two-three times I apply the brakes. I’m currently at 26,000 miles and it’s done it since day one. Truck is parked outside.
