I run them on my 16. I like them I don't have any complaints about them.

Install was super easy. Have some spare fuses ready in case you pop one. Do one taillight at a time and make sure everything works before putting it all back together.

Yep it is. 2 torques screws inside the tail gate area hold them on and they pop out away from the truck. Wiring is alittle weird because you use one of the bulb connections to plug into the new tail lights. But it's easy once your start putting it all together

Yeah I didn't have any of the new style short fuses on hand that was fun. Blow the fuse then try to figure out why tail lights didn't work haha.

thanks, I'm gonna order them. Do you have black outs? I was initially wanting the smoked glass but I heard that they are hard to see during bright sunny days. so I'm leaning torwards the black back w clear lens

Yeah I have the exact ones you posted. Smoked can look good depending on body color. But I had smoked tail lights before on a car and FHP didn't like that. Got that moving violation ticket.

The clear housing is more then bright enough when brake lights are on. Even in bright sun sets.

Just a few suggestions. When I installed mine the clips that hold the screws were not good at all so I stripped my OEM lights for the clips and used those. I also found that I had a plug with a broken prong so I used the factory plug and it worked.

Thanks for the tip, should I disconnect the battery negative when installing? to maybe prevent popping a fuse?

I believe they are popping fuses because they had the wrong polarity plugged to start. It wasn’t the clearest when I installed mine and I work with electricity every day.

If you disconnect the battery but roll polarity you will blow the fuse when you reconnect anyway. That’s what I’m thinking but the fuse blowers might chime in.

For Spyders, take a look at smoke red on Tundras, or Recons in same, subtle and OEM-like. Spyders where you can see right through to the white tubes like your pic remind me of CFL bulbs. That’s just my personal opinion, if you like them, go for it. In the end, you have to like them.

Too bad the QC isn’t great on Anza Eagle Eyes, that’s my favorite look, like Caddy’s and Audi’s, thin red LED strips.

After removing the 2 torx bolts, be careful pulling away the taillight, the plastic clips can break apart. I’d do it in a warm garage or warm weather when it has more flex.

Thanks! I'll make sure to be super careful with removal. warm shouldn't be a problem, we're pushing 90°F down here in Florida. melting may become an issue. lol

Lucky! We were in Orlando and Bahamas over spring break. Back to the cold north now. Yesterday, I took my 3rd brake light cover inside and re-wrapped it (damaged the vinyl when I took it off to put in LEDs).

Easy to do, soapy water, squeegee, heat gun or blow dryer. Wrap costs less than $2 on eBay. I’m hesitant on dark tail lights, don’t want anyone to hit me.

I think I connected the lower led plug into the brake light socket backwards. Pretty sure I blew a fuse under the dash. I will find out tomorrow morning. Need some low profile fuses.

Should be an easy fix then. Do the opposite of what you did and change the fuse. GL

You blew the 15a STOP fuse under the hood.

Check the 15a TAIL fuse under the dash too.

I have the smoked red ones since 2014 and they work great.

Hope you get the install all working properly. They are nice taillights.

Success! thanks guys. Spyder needs to update their manual. There arent any black wires coming out of the 2018 Tundra taillight assembly. 20180405_100858.jpg

It seems everyone is blowing fuses when installing? Is there a way around this? lol. I want to pick up a set of the smoked red for my '19. I am not an electrical person by any means.
