Dumbass moment. I was changing out a leaking wheel cylinder while doing my drum brakes and forgot to open the bleeder valve as I pumped the brake pedal, causing pressure to build up in the cylinder and making one of the pistons explode out. Of course, brake fluid everywhere as well. Make sure you open the bleeder valve... Maybe I'm the only one who needs that reminder.

I ended up popping the new wheel cylinder parts back together and installed it with my brakes. It doesn't seem to be leaking.
Anything wrong with using the wheel cylinder after it exploded? Is there any special trick to reassembling wheel cylinders, or was it ok for me to just pop the parts back in and verify correct functioning?

Take it off, reassemble while vertical so the spring is properly centered on both pistons and reinstall.

Don't bleed the brakes without everything assembled.

I'm pretty sure Heather rebuilt his. You might check towards the end of his build page.

"Heather" aka PHM was a valued member in the first gen section, even though they had their moments where they could be a butt. They got the perma-ban earlier this year. The name Heather comes from an Amazon review they left on a product which we later found; the name Heather seemed totally out of left field.

Lots of good info in their build thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/the...vestment-‘build’-a-chronological-story.46816/

interesting. Did not even know there was a build section. I saw golde hands all over the what did you do section with some ground breaking stuff and he/she? even helped out a few other butts around here. Dude? seemed very comical! I’ll check out the bulit section link. Thanks
