Low quality cell phone pictures of two spiders at my mom's house.
Top, then bottom. Does anyone care to ID this one?
I am pretty sure the small one is the male, and / or dinner.

Very cool. I watch them catch bugs and make the burial shrouds so their young will have food later on. As long as the big ones are not in the house, I'm good. Even the small ones in my mancave/garage eventually get any flying insect caught.

I would definitely invest in a blow torch just for this purpose. I hate those things always showing up at inconvenient times. I remember my wife waking up to use the bathroom and casually telling me there was a brown recluse next to my pillow, almost had a heart attack getting out of bed.

Pretty cool design on the stomach. Looks like an owl or something when it’s upside down.

Not to self-stay clear of Georgia It's got the Monster Energy green going on. That's kind of cool.

Taken this afternoon, the pine needle should give you an idea of how small this creature is.

The strange thing about this particular spider is where you find them, China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and a few counties in north east Georgia... The Joro spider is originally from Asia, and entomologists believe that they first traveled to Georgia a few years ago in shipping containers destined for the Interstate 85 distribution centers in northeast Georgia, said Rick Hoebeke, associate curator and collection manager of arthropods at the Georgia Museum of Natural History at the University of Georgia.

The spiders have spread throughout the area by hitching rides on trucks and cars traveling through northeast Georgia, and they’ve now been found in Jackson, Gwinnett, Hall, Oconee, and Madison counties. Edges of the metro Atlanta area are also beginning to see them.

I was deathly afraid of spiders up until I was forced to kill a Gigantic House Spider the size of a dollar bill. From that point on pretty much every spider is now - meh.

Found this one in our field - WA state. Lol
Size check can be determined by the size of the bee it’s feasting on.

The first one we found was a week prior on our front porch columns.
Apparently she got knocked up by this male, and then she killed him.
Creepy as F!!! My kids named her, and I didn’t torch her like I normally would with nasty spiders.
Apparently it’s a Writing Spider. Which can be seen in her web.
    (3 different spiders pictured)

    Sleep Tight!
