I am convinced it’s emissions related somehow. 100,000 kilometers is about 62,000 miles. I don’t know the first thing about Canada’s emissions rules however, but this is not unusual for Toyota to have different rules in other countries. They do the same with specified oil weight overseas.

It’s emissions related, that the bulk of the reason the v35 replaced the 350 as well

Yeah they said the emissions portion of my warranty would be voided if we didn't get it done (soon).

I did send a note to the dealer asking for a breakout of the costs. We'll see what I get back.

yes happened to me on another vehicle. bought plugs I thought were legit to only find out they were counterfeits. If it's too cheap...had to install new spark plugs on a V8 twice

My 4 runner with 245,000 miles runs on two sets of plugs. On the first 100,000 miles I bought a new set, the old one looked good. I adjusted the gap and on 200,000 installed them. On next change at 300,000 the second one is going to be installed. They look new after 100,000 miles

Funny thing is that I bought Toyota maintenance package thinking that spark plugs are included because it's listed in the maintenance schedule at 40k service, but my dealer says they're not covered... And will cost extra.

Didn't really spend time researching this as I'll be getting new engine anyway
