Check out ToyTec's new offerings as far as 1st aid kits. I already have two Adventure Medical Kits.. Mountain series. Group size...1-14, from 1 to 28 days. $200 a piece. Remember..high end 1st aid kids have some medicines that expire. You have to keep these kits updated. Doesn't hurt to have current Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR cred. My employer pays/provides this training every two years. Take your young one's to YMCA for swimming lessons. My gkids are already signed up.Get a CB/ham. Cell towers aren't reliable at all. Floridians will find out next. "Gee.. who needs a stupid CB radio??" Lets see who is really stupid.... Got powdered eggs? Yeah powdered eggs suck. Shit hits the fan?..my gkids eat powdered egg omelets while the unprepared eat dirt pies....

THIS^^^^^. There was an old Twilight Zone episode. A father prepped his house for worst case scenario..Mind you this was during late 50's USSR cold war BS. BS?? Looks what's going on now??? Anyways..the neighbors thought the guy was a nut case. Neighbors didn't prep. Guess who was knocking on the "nut" cases secured basement??? The neighbors. Would I let them in??? Only their kids..................Kids deserve a chance.

Edit.. If you live in a rural area all is good. Live in the city??? Can't rely on anything. Anything you have ......someone will want it and try to take it. You will need candles since there will be no power, no running water. Nothing like cowering in fear with your family because you didn't do simple prep.....You can always can play games on a cell phone till it's battery runs out...

Should a SHTF incident occur you're going to see a lot of "friends and acquaintances" who you have not seen in years show up at your door with just ass and face expecting help. You are now faced with some very tough choices are you ready to make such a choice? They will say and try anything they can to gain entry to your place and to use what supplies you have put together simply because it's easier to let someone else gather supplies while they sit back and watch. And should the SHTF incident be that catastrophic are you capable of making the tough decision to refuse entry or supplies to these "friends and acquaintances?"

There are a couple of brothers from Wyoming who bought some property across from mine. I saw all their prep stuff...Sheesh...I'm staying with them if shit hits the fan. They have one outbuilding stacked full of water on pallets.

Already made up my mind that I would say "goodbye". Of course, I say that now behind a computer screen, if it ever gets real it could change, but they wouldn't get it for free. Lot of work would have to be put in the earn it from me.
