Local ski resort (10 min. From house) just reported up to 600” of snow this season. I’m over it. At this rate I’ll be mountain biking by July.

Sadly, they're all over the country, usually isolated to cities. Charlotte, Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Nash-Angeles, to name a few.

Regarding the weather, there's a saying among the Adirondack mountain folks that "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad gear and bad attitudes." I tend to agree. It's also nice being able to walk outside in July and August, go eat some dinner outside, and after 5 minutes not have to wonder why you even take showers.

Winter could last a little bit longer for me because I’m not a big fan of mud season

Unpopular opinion here: This is my first year with seasons in 25 years. I’m actually surprised at how quickly winter went by. When I was a kid winter seemed like it dragged on forever.

    Ha!
Yeah we don't have spring (unless you count June). April and May are full of mud and wet cold. No skiing but also no boating or golf. Just the pits.

That's really gross!! Where do you live, time to move perhaps? We are FINALLY getting Spring like weather here, and almost all of the white shit is melted, the bulbs are coming up, it's glorious... time to start raking!

The forecast is central Idaho, and the snow is why we're here! The tough part is getting the local ski areas, especially the nordic ones, to continue grooming. When I was back east the ski areas would've killed for a season like this. The local ski hill was operating to mid-May a couple years ago, but new ownership doesn't like that. The tourists are abandoning us, so it's mostly the season pass holders still skiing so they aren't making as much money. Considering they're operating via permit on public land they should be grooming till the snow's gone.

Can't say as I have, though I've heard good things about it. We tend to gravitate to mid-state, Brundage/McCall for downhill and nordic, Sun Valley (nordic only), West Yellowstone for nordic and Driggs/Grand Targhee for downhill.

Ugh, this winter can totally suck it!! Non stop snow storms this year, I am over it... currently getting another 8 plus inches on top of the foot or so already on the ground, my driveway is a sheet of ice that won't melt because we haven't gotten a long enough break between storms. Yes, I am whining...

At least you are getting snow. I am in an area prone to grass fires in the summer and we haven't gotten any this year, nothing significant anyway. Definitely gotten the cold and wind though. This has been a long winter for sure :( Only 3 months left.

And you wonder why I now reside in Florda :hattip:

We flew up to NH for third week of January and y'all had your 1st big storm :annoyed: and then decided it would be nice to bring in

the sub zero temps :eek2::eek2:.....Luckily New Englanders know how to "Move Snow" as we had to round trip Logan airport twice that 1st weekend...

Now the Snow & the Dover/ Newington Bay are beautiful BUT I'm still staying in Florida 474170301_10161986386734185_1683490724421257735_n dova snow 2.jpg dova snow 3.jpg

It started snowing here Thanksgiving night and basically hasn't stopped since then. There Thanksgiving storm dumped 77 inches here and it's never fully melted. It's snowing now and we are supposed to get another 7 inches tonight. There is a woman who collects data for NOAA out here last I knew, weeks ago we've had well over 100" so far this season. I can handle the snow, but days on end without actually seeing the sun are what get you down. Plow guys and snow mo guys are digging it though.

    Keep it coming!
We’re around the 120” mark so far this year (not bad for 500’ elevation) and it hasn’t all come from 2 big early storms that get rained out and washed away like recent winters. 10” yesterday made some fun skiing.

Had to pry my door open with a plastic wedge from it being stuck in ice. First time a windshield scraper broke off in my hand. Ouch.

I think I should’ve put rain-x on the windshield yesterday in preparation for this icy morning.

I at least made it to Dunky Ds to get my coffee. :pccoffee:
