I was on a waitlist for a blue 18 raptor before I decided to save $20k and get another Tundra. Sweet truck but not worth the price.

Same goes for Toyota. How many people have had leaking cam towers in this forum...
I’ll admit Toyota has a better record but to act like fords are just falling apart left and right is just obnoxious.

A small oil leak that typically doesn't even require adding oil between changes is small potatoes compared to what big 3 owners tend to encounter

I don't mind electronic failing from time to time, don't use them anyways. Engine and transmission is what I care about. If it keeps the rain out that's an extra bonus (old f-150 leaked everytime it rained hard)

Not to mention the fact that people don’t even factor in that if Toyota sold even close to as many tundras as f150s, there would be more Tundra issues. I’d like to see a breakdown of issue per truck sold

Valid point. I'm sure they still have "more" but it may be more tech and electronics. I haven't heard of many tranny fails in the Yotas so that's reassuring. All the Fords seem to need a transmission rebuild at 100k miles

I know a Gen3 tundra owner with 2 failed transmissions. My sons 2001 F150 hasn't had nearly the problems my tundra has - intermittent transfer case issue where 4wd wont always engage. But no other issues. Now my other sons Dodge - I had to replace the whole motor after 22k miles. Would still choose the Tundra haha but my next new vehicle purchase will be a Ford.

Gotta say, as much as I dislike Ford products, the 6.2 Raptor would definetly be something I'd consider buying. To put it bluntly, it may be Ford's last good truck for a while. Going down in the books while the new ones will be going to the dump. You'll have a hard time making me ditch the Tundra though. My philosophy is to have one reliable truck/car while you buy/lease others for fun and hope they don't break down. Everyone needs that one vehicle they can count on!

Would you still buy a Ford if they get rid of the V8? I don't see a point in getting a truck if it aint a V8...but that's just me

I've seen rangers go up to 300k miles so I don't hate on them that much haha. I know a couple people in forestry who have used them for years and have been real reliable. The newer ones are a different story...

Not sure if they're just rumors or what but I'm pretty sure Ford is going to start scrapping the V8s. Seems like that 7.0 L is just a distant dream...or maybe not, we can only hope! Maybe they'll start making good trucks again now that their ditching their sedans

My last truck was a ‘12 F150 FX4 with the 5.0. I thought it was a great truck. Only issue I had with it was an airbag sensor that was replaced under warranty and the cage around the blower motor came loose and I just pulled it off. Personally, I always loved the 6.2 Raptor. Fantastic looking truck.

No way they will scrap the v8 in the Mustang for sure. They would just be shooting themselves in the foot. But the EPA is mandating shit they have no control over. Damn eco hippy tree huggers are ruining this country.

Maybe it’s my mid life crisis but those V8 Raptors are bad ass as well as the Super Duty Platinum diesel....seriously thinking about the platinum diesel but I don’t tow anything so why the hell would I trade the Tundra. But I do think those Platinum 250s are beautiful trucks and every time I hear that diesel sound I fall in love....
