I have the 38 gallon tank. Usually I’m not on the road for more than 30 minutes and traffic moves pretty well when I’m on the road. I fill up at around half a tank which is once a week or so because because it’s convenient (Costco pumps are by the grocery store we shop at) and... feels lighter on the wallet that way :D

On longer trips it’s nice to have, but I pay more attention to the trip meter than the gas guage or digital “out of gas in” read out.

With that though... pen and paper calculation shows my tundras computer is off about 0.5 mpg. I reset at each fill up and usually use the same pump and filling method - writing odometer, trip and digital mpg readout on the receipt before resetting trip and digital mpg. I hand calculate when I’m in the truck with nothing better to do lol

It looks like you’ve got a stock intake. You could check the filter element and if it’s not paper it might be a high flow filter which can sometimes give you a whistle. No big deal. It looks like your shocks may be icon or Bilstein as I didn’t see a spacer which is good. Hopefully someone else can chime in who recognizes that shock. And as for your muffler I can’t tell if that’s stock or not. From that point of view it looks smaller than original but again I’m not sure.
Looks like you have a 1-2 inch lift block on the rear end. I’d say your trucks been lifted 2 to 3.5 inches in the front and 1 to 2 inches in the back.

Appears to be a 6112 at top setting although the bottom spring seat doesn't look right to me so not sure. Not sure I've ever seen the caution label on them either. So now I'm leaning more towards some other brand. Maybe Eibach? Either way at least it's not a spacer lift so that a bonus.

Had my mechanic give the truck a look over today and he said no lift kit is installed - that the height is purely from going from the stock 17" wheels to the 20s. Could that be right? Here's another angle of the front wheelbase.

I also noticed the front panels behind the fog lights were removed in order for the larger tires to have movement (pictured). Anyone aware of any custom panels that cover the wiring and fog lights that still allow tire movement?

Those are aftermarket adjustable shocks like a Bilstein 5100 or 6112, they are giving you lift it's obvious because the spring seat is set at a higher notch. Wheel size does not give you any lift tire size does so going from 17" to 20" wheel does nothing and besides the only 17" stock wheel ever on a Tundra was the Rock Warrior in the 2nd gen, you have a 3rd gen platinum that came with 20" wheels stock.

Those shocks definitely aren’t stock. I don’t know if they lifted the truck but I wouldn’t see why you would just change the shock that early on in the trucks life without upgrading. I think it has a minor lift with those springs and shocks upfront. Hopefully somebody else will chime in that recognizes those. As for the covers you are looking for maybe @Roman can help you with that.

It looks like instead of trimming everything to make the tires fit they just removed everything. You may have to buy new ones and then cut them to fit your tires. I haven’t had mine off but it looks like they remove the mudflap add a minimum front and rear of the front tire.

Just wanted to share a picture of my shocks and front axle angle compared to yours. My truck is lifted about 1 3/4 inch to 2 inches. The angle of your axle is more dramatic than mine which leads me to believe you might be more around 3 inches of lift in the front. 4F52F95A-763F-4021-86EE-D8CB4B76EA8B.jpg 3B26F222-9978-41CE-A99E-7355173E3BB5.jpg

You should change out those factory coils for something else for a better ride, IMO. Those shocks are pretty cheap.

Interesting! I've been finding conflicting information, so I looked at the spare tire and it's a Michelin 18". I'm assuming it's the stock spare, but can't tell for certain.

Thanks! I'll look into the stock parts to see if I can just cut away the affected area.

That sounds like a wife-approved upgrade - what would you recommend without going over the top?

Not sure about your spare but I would assume it is just a black 18" steel wheel, I seriously doubt they put a matching wheel as a spare. Your Platinum came from the factory with 20" wheels.

That depends on what you want to use the truck for and your budget.

Bilstein 5100s would be the best route for a shocks with lift for a reasonable price, or you could upgrade from 5100s to 6112s. For less than 500.00 using the 5100s, you can do all 4 corners. The 6112s include new front coils too but I believe that setup runs around 800?

6112's are also harder to find as they are still on national backorder.

    First, welcome!
Second, I had Bilsteins installed for a few months now and that’s what I would also recommend if you just want to level the truck and not break the bank. I don’t take my truck off-roading, but if you plan on doing so, there maybe a different route to take

Thanks! I'm all for not breaking the bank but getting the job done.

So far I'm loving the truck. We'll be taking heading out this weekend for a 3-week adventure with our TT. We plan on hitting all the National Parks over the years (we hit 6 last year) and want to drive to most of them with our trailer. I would imagine the most 'off-roading' we'd do is quite minimal with dirt and/or rocky roads.

Would we feel a significant difference with the Bilsteins 5100s over what's on there today? If what's on there are cheap, does that mean the suspension quality is poor, or that they won't last very long with normal use?
