Are you using a fuse tester or you doing visual checks?

I’m going to use a fuse tester tomorrow, I don’t have one and I told a buddy at work to bring one tomorrow. If that doesn’t work I’m not going to screw around with it anymore, I’ll be taking it to the dealer. I’m pretty worried, definitely learned a lesson

So just tested all the fuses and all the ones under the hood are good. On the interior the backup camera one is blown, of course, and the 4th slot up from the bottom on the right side is, it’s labeled LH-IG. I’m trying to figure out what that one is for right now

I read all the functions for the LH-IG fuse and it says dash lights speedo and charging function. Pretty much everything that acted up was listed. I’m praying to sweet baby Jesus when I replace that fuse everything will be back to normal. Does that sound right?

Sounds great BUT did you remove the work that caused the blow in the first place?

If not you may just do it again.

Yes that was the first thing I did, it’s all back to normal. I have to go to work right now but In the morning I’m going to get fuses and praying it works. Should I disconnect the battery again to try to get the lights and everything to reset?

I took a look at the electrical wiring diagrams. I didn't see what year truck you have, but this info is for the 2014 to pre-August 2017 trucks. LH IG is the Left Hand Ignition fuse. It's a 7.5 amp fuse that directly powers the Head Unit through Pin 1 of the 28-pin connector (J135) on the Head Unit. It also feeds the J29 Flasher Relay assembly.

The LH IG fuse is gets it's power from the 150 A LH-J/B Fuse through the IG No. 1 Relay and should have 12 volts when the key is in the "On" position. I would pull the LH-IG fuse and check the fuse socket for 12 volts. (check both terminals and remember the key needs to be in the ON position). If you have power then the 150A fuse and relay are good. If not, I would go to the relay and check the power input there. If that relay is fried, it would cause lots of problems because that same relay also feeds ECU–IG1 No. 1, ECU–IG1 No. 3, and ECU–IG No. 4 (all 7.5 amp fuses). So if you haven't already checked those, that would be a good idea as well. If the ECUs are not getting their IG power it could cause the type of issues you are seeing.

    Good luck with your troubleshooting...

Wow that’s great info, does it apply to my 08? And I’m not an electrical guy, how do you check the fuse socket for 12 volts? I’m going to pop a new fuse in tomorrow and see if that works and if not I’ll get started on doing the steps you explained. Thanks so much for all the help guys I really can’t explain how grateful I am for you guys and this forum, I’ve been really stressed out over this

To check the fuse socket you would pull the fuse from the socket and probe both sides of the socket with your test light or multimeter.

@tmart, apologies. The info I provided was for 3rd gen trucks. I'll dig around this evening and see what I can come up with for the '08.

Well all the fuses are good now and it’s still doing the same thing. It started and seemed to run fine but the head unit was off, clock and that stuff was off, fan and seat heaters wouldn’t work, pretty much nothing electrical would work. Battery gauge was as low as it goes and all the same lights on the dash were on. I don’t have any answers anymore so I guess I’m going to have to take it to the dealer and see if they can get it fixed without costing me a couple grand. Thanks for all the help guys

Possible the battery now. Some, especially stock ones, fail easily if they are fully discharged.
