It took me about an hour or so but that was with a headache. My cover was $35 since they didn't have them marked down. It's a pretty nice cover.

Nice. There is something about spraying the entire inside of the grill with oil to season it before using it for food. Stops the rust. I "think" you only have one shot at it and that's before cooking with it.

So I went to the local lowes and asked one of the guys on the floor if they had any in stock. I got really excited when he looked up the item number and it popped up on his screen for $139…..he said he had three in stock but they were in the back. Waited a few minutes and he came back and said he has three but two were already reserved via online orders. The third was a display model that was damaged. I asked what was wrong with it and he said the auger motor didn’t work. So I asked him how much he would sell it to me for. He said “how about $75?” I couldn’t get to the register fast enough…….brought it home and ordered the replacement motor on Amazon for $25. It got delivered today and I installed it….the smoker works perfectly.

So all in all I got the smoker for $100!!!!! Merry Christmas to me!!!!! Got a 8 pound pork shoulder thawing in the fridge as I type this……..

    Thanks for posting this deal!!!!!

Sweet…I recommend that you contact Pit Boss regarding the auger motor. Their customer service is very good and you could end up with a spare motor to possibly use in the future.

@shawn474 i also was hurrying through the store. Not quite running, more of a speed walk. Just looks weird and suspicious if you’re in a full sprint through Lowe’s

Wife found the recipe to try. It was on smoke for 1 hour, then 250 degrees for 45 minutes and it called for the internal meat temp of 135. We used Hickory pellets.

They have a 5 year warranty and supposedly are hassle free when needing to replace broken/defective parts. I would call ASAP. Good chance they will send out a whole new controller

Just got off the phone with customer service; what a company. Asked for serial number and are sending out a brand new control board asap. Couldn’t have been a better experience and something that is getting much more rare these days - a company that actually cares about their customers!!!! A+ all around and will keep me coming back to them

Fresh off the grates....had to put them on a little longer (2nd pic). Definitely have to experiment with the temps.

I just finished the pork shoulder and got so excited I forgot to take a picture of it. It did a GREAT job and was so much easier than trying to constantly regulate temperatures and make sure I had enough propane, etc. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the grill and the quality of the job it did coming the meal

    couple things for wings....

    1. Spray with duck fat or another fat and it helps crisp up. Also real light dusting of corn starch really helps with crispness.

    2. If I am only cooking on the smoker, I go at 275 until they reach 150 degrees. Then crank the heat up to 350 degrees and finish wings. This will get the skin crispy. Wings have a large room for forgiveness. You can cook them anywhere from 165-190 degrees.

    3. My favorite way is to smoke low at 200-225 degrees until they are 150 degrees. Then I pull them off and throw them in the deep fryer just for a minute or so to get them crispy. Best of both worlds, smoked and fried.

Ended up taking the last one from the floor. It had a bad control panel so the manager gave it to me for 40 bucks! Got it home and called pit Boss, they are sending me a new control panel this week for free.
