If you have a stock stereo and a smart phone then you need to check this out! Beat-Sonic now offers a plug and play smart phone mirror adapter for your smart phone to the stock head unit. The install takes only a few minutes and there is no cutting wires. Enables you to use google maps, watch videos and everything else from your phone onto your head unit. Here is the link:

It's a mirror image of what's on your phone. So if you play a video on your phone it shows on your screen. If you use google maps on your phone it shows on your screen. Go to the link above and they have videos of it operating and the installation.

I installed this kit a couple of months ago. I have 2014 PLatinum and it works great. Picture quality is decent. I have an Iphone7 and basically it mirrors whatever is on you phone screen to the head unit.

This is a plug and play kit and comes with all connectors so you dont have to cut or splice any wires. I followed the video on youtube for the install. You will need to purchase the digital av adapter for your phone separately.

Just came across this item online. From the looks of it, it appears it does not let you control the phone from the screen, just view it. Is that correct?

I know @TundraTex is offering the FRAC harness fro the cameras, but does he also offer the FRAC-AV harness to mirror an iPhone? The videos for the AV on the associated threads have been deleted.

First let me say that I'm no expert on the beat sonic design and I have never inspected their product, but from what I can tell they tap into the same video lines that I did to get the AV function.

Mirroring is just that, it repeats or mirrors the iPhone or iPad display.
Since it's just a video interface and not a digital interface, if you want to interact with the video player, or map or app you have running, you need to do that on the iPhone or iPad.

I got this to work in my original harness, but because I wasn't happy with the video quality on the HU display and because there was a lot of extra cost and complexity, I decided not to include it with the FRAC harness.

This was my main concern about the Beat Sonic setup. Since it downgrades to Analog, I feared poor video quality on the HU. I guess there's no way around that at the moment.

    Thanks for the reply.

Just found this and I know this is a really old topic but !

Was just talking to the wife last night about navigation on her RAV, or the lack of it.
She uses WAZE and MAPS. Is the beat-sonic product a good choice or are there other "plug and play" options available?

    Thanks
    Tom
