It hurt me really bad to see the pinstripes. After getting the first one, I'm "meh" about the other ones and any future ones.

I have the AMP steps. Sometimes I think I should've gone with sliders, but in reality, I don't think I'd ever "use" them even if I had them. Also, the AMP steps are probably a lot lighter and I like the way the truck looks with them in the up position. I also installed a disable switch so I can lock them up and not have them go down if I so choose.

THIS! I bought a pair of AMP steps on CL without the wiring for a steal. Have been sitting in my garage for a year and haven't bought the wiring for them because I can't decide if I want to put them on or buy sliders instead, so the stock ones have stayed on. It's my daily driver right now and don't wheel much at the moment so I don't really need sliders but like the way that they look.

Yeah live in salt lake area. I am definitely going to give them a call. I want a slider that is a decent step and has a kickout and seems they have it. And I would be able to save on the shipping.

Yeah they do mount to the frame. I just had them send me the install directions. It says you have to drill which is strange because I thought there website says bolt on.

Just make sure they don't use the pinch weld in addition to the frame like they used to with the Tacoma "sliders". If they're frame-only, then I say party on.

If you’re going to rivet on the SDHQ plate, do it before install. Once on the truck, you can’t get the fourth rivet in with a rivet gun.

One more tip if you’re installing yourself.

    66F19FFA-CEE7-4D53-87E5-436E8A6CF0C6.jpg
The rearmost slider mount on the passenger side has like a diagonal brace from the rear cabmount.

    1157A89B-5229-4622-9172-3E078D387237.jpg
It gets in the way to get this bolt in and mine was impossible to get in without jiggling and sliding the entire slider back a bit. Unfortunately my dumbass pretty much tightened all the other bolts before I realized it and had to get them all off again. And then made the same mistake a few years later when I moved the sliders to the new truck. :angrygirl: Get that bolt in the hole before you start tightening all the other bolts.

And I’m sure you already know you’re going to have to loosen up the gas tank to get the driver’s side on. Be sure to run your fuel down as low as possible before you start.

Is that just a doublecab issue? I've seen this with other brands of sliders, but always when installed on DCs.

I got a copy of the tundra install pdf, frame only. They make a crapload for different vehicles and from what i can tell the pinch weld mount are involved on alot of their unibody vehicle sliders. In any case , it doesnt seem to affect the tundra
