Pros and cons so far? The moment I saw them I instantly liked the idea. The cost is hard to swallow especially now that I have a 6 month old and getting out during this season more than a few times is going to be rough. I didn't even get to ride my "new to me" board last season because we moved over winter and COVID mucked up alot of the resorts

I miss my old clickers - they never froze up on me. But I never found the boots to be the right fit and they rotted apart years ago.

I had the Burton step in till I couldn’t replace the boots. On them 40-50 days a season never had an issue. I’ve been seeing the new ones on the hill.

The new step-ons seem good, but that's a lot of money to upgrade and then they aren't compatible with other bindings. So then you need different boots for a split board.

Wait until the Burton end of the year sale and the boots and bindings are 20% off. My wife got a pair of Step Ons in February and her first day on them was last Sunday at Copper. My son skis and we ride with skiers. We used to have to wait for her, but not any more. Get off the lift and go.

The Step Ons are great. I ride Speedplay pedals and they're a little like Speedplays with a lever. The engagement is somewhat similar and I think the Step Ons will get to the point where you don't really have to look down to get in. Your foot knows where to go. The Burton guy I talked to in the store in February has been riding the Step Ons since the first generation and he doesn't have to look down. I'm not there, but that's where I should get.

My biggest issue is getting in when I'm moving. And they creak, but I don't hear it. My wife's, which are the newer version, don't creak. The Step Ons are legit. You have a wide variety of boot options. I like a really stiff boot and my wife wants a soft, comfy boot. We both got what we wanted.

If you got snow or ice in the front of those K2 Clickers, it was a mess. That was their biggest problem. The Switch bindings didn't have that issue.

After riding with her he goes and designs a full custom board for your riding style. He’s a master. The top sheet is wood from dead trees on the hill at JH. Great guys as well.

Honestly as I get older Im tired of the hassle hanging my foot and sometimes on and off the lift. I do both anyway and with skis I just have a more pleasant time. Ill still board every once in a while but not strictly. Now I am not hiding parks anymore either which is why I initially started boarding years ago.
