Quick short “twilight” visit to my home mountain. Last time there was 2019, and last time before that was 1996. A lot has changed, a lot hasn’t. Wish I had a full day this trip to really stretch my legs. (That’s downhill time - we were on mountain about 4 hours)

Meanwhile, I took my dogs to a local state park today - in shorts and a t-shirt. Under normal circumstances, this would be my first day of ski week. At least I can live vicariously through y'all!

I rode up the lift with two guys from MN on Saturday night. They were from west of MSP a ways, were up there with a group of guys and their adult kids

    Nice!

Just got off the phone with my son. Because of flights shutting down coming to MN he will be in Sandpoint/Schweitzer until Saturday (vs flying out tomorrow) it looks like.

Daughter had to go back to school and the other person got injured. So he is skiing solo at Schweitzer today, and looks like the rest of the week.

He just sent me this pic from Schweitzer, took the pic about 40 minutes ago:

Yes. The drop is seldom mandatory. Its more of one really steep turn. My board never left the snow. Very soft today.

Nice. Sounds like you had a good day.

Didn’t have health insurance the one time I was at JH years ago so just kept on cruising by Corbets. Had a great time there though.

Just booked flights today for an end of March Park City trip. Never been but assuming it’ll be similar to Snowbird/Alta which i thoroughly enjoyed

For sure. It’s been a great season here. 417” as of yesterday and more is coming. Corbets is 99% mental. The turn in and even the drop is much easier than a bunch of other stuff here. But when your standing on the lip and there’s like 25 people watching it’s a whole different story. My kids ski group does it all the time. They aren’t scared of anything. I have excellent insurance. March is a good time to hit PC. They have had a bunch of snow as well.
Go on YouTube and check out S & S , the run next to Corbets Now that’s some scary shit

I had planned on specifically Kirkwood Wednesday and Thursday (15th-16th) due to the weather showing them getting the most snow. Besides that, just Heavenly or Northstar the other days. I dont mind going to kirkwood more either. Its actually one of my favorite mountains because no one from the bay goes out that way really lol.

Im staying the south lake as well near state line and ski run blvd.

It was kind of meant to be i think. It was on sale and in my size... the skate banana isnt the best board for what i like to do.. so figured id give it a shot.

I dont plan on getting another board for 10 years so i hope this lasts like my Lib Tech :fingerscrossed:

My oldest and I took a day trip to Titus Mountain last weekend. Pretty great time. About 2.5 hrs from the house. Pulled into the lot and realized I forgot my bag (helmet, boots, gloves, goggles).
Got to buy some new goggles, rental boots, and thankfully I keep a pair of kincos in the truck but my hands were hurting as it teetered around 0°F all day.
    We had a blast though.

Went and bought new bindings today so I'm ready for a potential <cough cough> day on Wednesday. Got some Union Atlas, should be nice and stiff like I like them.
