I just purchased a 2015 Tundra SR5 double cab, 5.7L. Mine does not have a skid plate. I’m wondering if skid plates were standard with all Tundras, or did they just come with TRD or other models. I just moved up from a ‘97 T-100, so I’m new to Tundras.

Welcome. Not sure about the SR5 but my 1794 came with one. I'd recommend getting a TRD plate. It looks much nicer and heavier duty than the original one.

My 2015 DC came with the factory, thin, shield (not really a skid plate). You might consider the TRD plate or one from RCI. I'll probably go with the RCI myself but that's just me.

Mine doesn’t have one either. Never knew if it was supposed to be there or not.

When I bought my 2015 SR5 DC 4x4 new, it did not come with a skid plate. My guess is that the base SR5 doesn’t come with them? Anyway, I later added the aluminum TRD Pro skid with the oil filter access port and like it a lot.

Welcome. I just replaced my factory skid with an RCI. You’re welcome to my factory skid if you want it.
