if your shock is maxed out, it is maxed out. Sorry but the quest for vanity of adding extra lift to even the truck side to side is incorrect. Adjustable shocks don’t need spacer plates

I can tell you with about 3.5" of lift I am basically out of adjustment space with SPC UCA's.

It's not vanity. The shock isn't maxed out if it is at 2.5 inches. It still has another half inch to go. It's about trying to fit tires and minimizing the amount that needs to be cut or modified.

I guess it depends on wheel offset and tires too though, because of tire to UCA clearance

Offset is +1. Tire is bigger than 35X12.50.

With your application using an adjustable coil-over, you should be able to adjust the hubs to change the spring compression and offset for additional weight. If after the lift we assume that the pass. side is at 3" and the driver's at 2.5", then adjust the driver's side coil-over hub to compress the spring more and compensate for the extra weight, bringing it up to match the pass. side.

Not sure but it seems you might have tires that will hit your fenders because the offset will have them pushed out beyond the well space, not a problem when parked, but when the suspension cylces watch out.

I think OP is just trying to get all he can and reserve adjustment for when the springs become tired and any settling occurs. Not going to hurt adding a shim, but I would do both sides equally and fine tune with coilover adjustment.

Yeah, that is my biggest concern. If that happens I will be forced to change tire size back to what I originally wanted. The only reason I picked that size is because they said the size I wanted isn't available which was LT285/75R17.

And or the wheel offset, either way, good luck. The mods game is like most everything, one thing leads to fifteen others!

You got that right. Next is headers and the bumper/winch, maybe not in that order. I am thinking about regearing it but I want to try it out some with the new tires and get that all settled in before I do that. The topper is scheduled to ship on the 9th of July so I will have it on the truck week after next.

Hmm I got a quote for $1308 for five Yokohama GO15 285 75 18 two weeks ago, went to put a down payment so they would order, guy calls supplier, two months out. Asked about Toyo AT3, nope, I forget why, Falken wildpeak yes in two weeks $1695. Nitto RG, loud when worn down, nope, guess two months it is. :fingerscrossed: Will be getting a great highway tire though for a good price.:burnrubber:

If he bottoms out the shock with a spacer on it then it can get damaged badly.

Do yourself a favor and give Coachbuilder a quick call. From my understanding he recommends keeping adjustable coilovers at the same height and making up the difference for any driverside lean with a shim. And think you're gonna need the bolt kit he sells for the top hat when adding a shim.

Good luck. I hope they come in when they say they will.

1695 for the Fallkens sounds high. I got the Wildpeaks for $1248 (LT315/70R17) and some warranty thing for $207 more. I am going to see if I can ditch the warranty thing. They said they already have them waiting for me. I hope they aren't blowing smoke up my skirt. They should have a pile of parts waiting for me. The only thing they need is the shackles which I ordered and are due in about three weeks.

 Just wasn't sure if you were second guessing yourself by using a shim to correct for the lean. Sounds like the service manager could use a talk with him.

I am already trying to figure out the best way to get things done without a fight but not totally adverse to pulling the parts and finding someone else to do it.

Coachbuilder says that no further action (extended bump stop) is required for one shim.

Are you not gaining lift with the coilovers? Or are you installing a bump stop extension kit? I gather you are lifting 3", so I hope you have bump stop extensions in your parts.

So…limit travel on those nice new high dollar shocks? Got it.

They also claim they aren’t spacers. But guess what? They’re spacers.

OP do what you want. Ain’t my truck. IMO the right course of action here is more spring rate.

Yep, limit travel to keep the shocks in working condition, they are not cheap and a few inches of travel is sufficient for just about any bumps in the normal roads. If going off road, go slow and expect to hit the limit and bottom out sometimes anyway.
