and if memory serves me correctly … the clips were a little tricky to pry off without breaking them (I think I remember breaking at least one)

 

Yep I broke two myself but there are so many clips plus the 4 screws that it ain't going anywhere.

 

Kinda but on an SR5 so I have the black/chrome bumper not color matched

I finally got some time to give her a proper detail, that silver sky sure pops when it’s waxed up! I also have to admit that the chrome is growing on me a little, at minimum it’s made its way to the back burner on the mod list.

The truck looks great and I agree about the chrome. I had plans to delete all the chrome before I picked up my silver sky metallic. Now I like it. I think I'll keep it.

 

The first one that my dealer found that matched what I wanted was white and I passed. I am so glad the next one he found was silver sky metallic.

This is mine right after I bought it two weeks ago. Since then I've added side rails, a soft tri-fold tonneau cover and today I installed a drivers side grab handle....that it should of had anyway honestly. Easier to get in/out now. The only chrome I "might" look into changing later on is the grill surround and whatever the front piece on the hood is called. Then have those painted Silver. I'll just keep the grill it has now.

 

Sounds like you’re off to a nice start with the mods. (And the front piece is called “hood bulge”)

 

Got my front/rear bumper and grilled colored match a few weeks ago.

 

It's the Tundra codpiece, it protects the area where serious things happen.

 

OK - just two pics since I don’t have it any more (this is the ‘08 I traded in at 297k miles to get my ‘21 TRD Pro).
I spent a LOT of time in that truck, and in some ways I miss it... Silver Sky is an awesome color.

Two days ago I had my KO2s replaced with H/Ts. They were 285/65R18s and the suspension was stock. They came with my Tundra. I don't tow or off-road and, boy, they were a rough ride. If I ran over a leaf, I felt it.
Switched to Continental Terrain Contact H/T 275/70R18s. Feels like I am driving a Cadillac now...smooooooth, but looks good on the truck.
The KO2s look good also, but are a stiff ride.

 

There's actually one practical reason I get a silver truck. It stays cooler in hot weather. Our summers are brutal.

 

Silver sky is my favorite Toyota color and maybe favorite color of all. My practical reason is that I don't wash my truck very often and it hides dirt and scratches the best.

 

I will be replacing my rear bumper on my 2018 Platinum in 2 weeks after I get my new bumper fabricated. If anyone is looking to purchase it will be for sale.

I think the black inserts look best on the SSM - the contrast is even better than on white trucks.

 

I agree and I think the black emblems look best on ssm too!

 

I've thought about the black emblems but haven't done any mods yet. Just got the truck last week.
