I alway understood that the BSMs were integrated into the side view mirrors....the parking sensors were in the front and rear bumpers. And someone correct me if I'm wrong. :D

Those are the Parking Sensors in the front and rear bumpers. The BSM are inside the rear quarter panels and they monitor motion from the sides used for backing up to detect pedestrians, on coming cars (backing out of parking spots/driveway) and in my case Golf Carts. I live in a retirement community and on a given day during the peak winter golf season I have at least 1000 golf carts a day drive past my driveway most of which have had their Happy Hour or after golf beer.

While driving and going to change lanes the BSM's job is to check the lane to make sure nothing is there and if it is the lights on your mirror blink warning you there is something close

You are correct, not compatible with BSM ... they do have models for the parking sensors though.

I did the Rough Country 3.5" bolt on lift which lifts the front 3.5 and the rear 2.5. I put the Nitto Ridge Grappler 295/70/R18s on my stock 18" rims too. I think it looks great! Didn't have to use any spacers but I did have interference with the trd engine skid plate. Tire shop took it off for me. When I have time, I just have to trim it back to give the tires room and bolt it back on. I'll take some better photos but here is a shot from yesterday. Still on the fence about the fender flares. Nice got anymore pics? Curious about the rough country upper control arms. In pictures they looked kind of skinny. How long have you had it? How is it holding up?

Final pic of my truck. It’s gone. I’ll be replacing with a new 2020 and starting over. Another Silver Sky Doublecab ofcourse.

Story isn't posted anywhere. Going long travel and since I'm pouring so much money into it, thought I'd start with a new truck that isn't squeaking and bent to hell. Got an offer on my old truck I couldn't refuse, so I stripped it and sold it. And I'm absolutely going doublecab again. I really can't stand the proportions of a CM. Shopping for a new truck as we speak. :)

Not long. I had it installed just Tuesday of this week. It seemed to be fine and the truck re-aligned perfectly.

Tire Update: Stock 18" rims, 3.5" rough country bolt on lift, 295/70r18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

I thought I would put this comment here instead of the tire forum because clearly we all have elevated statures with our Silver Sky Mettalic Tundras. Secondly, I spent a lot of time researching lifts and tires all over this forum and I appreciated the information I obtained and wanted to give back a little. I might yet learn something new with comments from you guys!

Bottom line is that I'm not totally happy with my tire choice and I'm planning to head back to the tire store to see if I have any reasonable options. I love the way these tires look on the truck with the RC 3.5" lift. My problem is that that tire dealer said to keep them from being squirrelly I need to run them at 60psi. I'm assuming he means because they are taller and wider. The problem is they are like riding on rocks. Every bump seems to make the whole front end jump off the ground. I just took it out on the interstate to test it out at highway speeds, meaning 80mph because on the interstates around Atlanta 55=85, and found the truck to be very unstable. I drove it for a day and a half with just the lift and the original Michelin 275/65r18s and the truck was very stable.

As much as I love the look, this is my daily driver and I want it to be stable and comfortable on the interstate as well as any other roads. I think I may fall back to an All terrain tire like the original Michelin but with the 285/70R18 size. I'm afraid if I get the same 295/70r18 in the Michelin, they are still going to recommend the 60psi.

Just my personal experience. Thoughts from anyone else that has been down this road? IMG_8745.jpg IMG_8743.jpg

Rough Country HD2 running boards. Took about 30-45 minutes to install in the driveway. I really like them. I think I'm going to do a rhino liner kind of paint on them to give them a better grip. When I use chemicals to keep them black, they get slick. I thought they looked pretty good though!

Joonbug, that's what I'm screaming! I think I'm going to lower them to 45 and see where I am. I had Ridge Grapplers on a 2008 F150 with a leveling kit but i had 20" wheels. I was super happy with them and they rode great. Just frustrated right now with the ride.

When I had 295/70 STT Pros, I ran them at about 38psi. Even 45 will feel stiff.

yes, when I had the 295's I had 18's. Have you tried a lower pressure yet? 60 psi will just be way too stiff. Every bump you hit will make the front end bounce up and lose contact with the pavement. I usually kept it around 38psi. I didn't even like how it drove at 42psi.

I agree with this assessment. I would reduce to standard pressure and see how it drives. I've never heard of putting that much pressure in a lite truck tire. I've only heard of running that much pressure in a 3/4 ton pulling or hauling heavy loads.

I agree that 60 psi is way too high. I recently changed out my Trail Grappler with Cooper MTP. I kept both at 45 psi and Nitto definitely felt stiffer at that psi than Cooper. Stiffer side wall, perhaps. Try 40 and see if you like the ride.

@Tankstew Definitely try upper 30s-40 PSI. I am currently running 295/70/18 Cooper STT Pros and they don't bounce all over the road. Mine are wearing evenly and ride just fine for an off-road tire. 60 is high, just like all the others have said. (ps nice truck...looks almost identical to mine :))

I dropped to 42psi and much much better!! I think I may drop further to 38. Definitely took a hit on mileage. The truck drops a gear way earlier going up hills. I’ll enjoy these tires but I think I may go with a less aggressive tread next time to maintain a little civility on the truck. ;)

In the meantime I’m just going to love the heck out of it!!
