Plus, and I know I'm not alone here... How does being in the shower somehow make everything dryer?

I had to fix an old leaking tile shower in the top floor of a 2 story house that I lived in a few years back. The pan was the most challenging part of the whole project because I was unfamiliar with it but it turned out to be a really good learning experience. Your new tile is looking great!

Tomorrow Tuesday 09/18 is the revel, its looking great. Finale cleaning of the haze and sealing. The floor tile that thankfully I saved a case of from 10 years ago has been set and the grout I chose is a close match, so that repair should not be noticed much.

Then its onto the entry dining kitchen and utility room.

    And it’s done.
Pics really do not do it justice.
I need to add a light in the ceiling now.

Man that looks nice!!!! Also running tile all the way up to the ceiling is really the way to go. If I ever remodel my "porno suite" 1980's bathroom(2 person jacuzzi tub/shower combo) I am definitely running the tile all the way up to the ceiling. You can see some moisture damage on the drywall right above the top of the tile line.

Looks great! For you guys wondering if you can DIY a shower remodel I want to say it's def possible. Back in January I ripped out the fiberglass surround and tiled my shower. Also put in a vinyl tile floor. It was quite the job but with proper planning and research it can be done. I opted for a fiberglass pan as opposed to the tile base. For the walls I went with basic drywall and the Kerdi waterproof barrier. Kerdi is great stuff, expensive and a little tough to work with, but when done right creates a completely waterproof shower.

i need to tackle mine, but it's my only bathroom and i'm not patient, so i'm cheating and one of my employees and his dad will do it (tiling is his side job). i just need to figure out the tiles i want to use and whether i go tub length or small square shower. need to do it soon as i'm soooo sick of the crappy robin's egg blue tub.

for those that have replaced tubs with a shower, did you do a full length shower (length of tub) or a smaller one and were you happy/unhappy with your choice and why?
