When I was researching tonneau covers I kept finding stories like yours. So I decided to try the Diamondback SE. I love mine, but I've only had it a few months. Nothing lasts forever, but the DB is well made and looks like it'll outlast the truck.

I have not.. I am personally looking at the lomax, but this Fold-a-cover looks pretty damn cool.

For those using the Truxedo Pro.. how secure is the cover? Is there a locking mechanism when it’s rolled out?

That's an awesome looking cover. I found a Backflip MX4 used locally that was 8 months old for $450 and jumped on it. I would post a pic, but right now it would be green. The truck would be green. The ground would be green. The camera lens would be green. The air would be green. It would just be a big green square. Damn tree sex is everywhere.

I think I'm getting the Fold a Cover G4, why?
    I like the caddy thingy
It doesn't use a string to open it. It has a latch. Seems , maybe more secure.
    No drain tubes.

Any advice on water proofing a retractable bed cover? Checked in a major rainstorm random spots are just dripping and letting water in the bed.

Has anyone else notice how these covers make the truck less susceptible to being pushed around by cross-winds?

@snarkscarbine - Tell us more about your fold a cover.. im on the fence and cannot decide worth a damn.. I saw the fold a cover, it looks nice, debating between it, the Lomax and one other.

Got my Fold a Cover with Caddy ordered yesterday. Let's see how long it takes it to get here.
I was using the 3D maxpider floor mats from the 2018 Armada in the Tundra, and also ordered a set of fitted 3D maxpider mats for the Tundra yesterday.

@markg keep me posted. or DM me with pics.. it looks like a longer install than most, but it really has my attention right now.. it was going to be the lomax for just a simple bed cover, but If i go long term, Fold-a-cover looks nice. Please keep me posted - much appreciated.

    Sorry; forgot I’d posted here.
I like it well enough. If I had it to do over again I’d probably get a retractable, but I was broke when I bought it, lol. I like that it folds up compactly and does block the rear view or take up as much bed space as the other fold-up covers. The latch mechanisms can be finicky to align the first time, and will pretty much require someone inside the bed and another person outside.

My only beefs with it are that the locks can be finicky to get set up, and that you have to open the cover in order to close the tailgate or the seal will tuck under and won’t work right. The gap between the cover and the tailgate is too big to not use the seal.

I’m still waiting on somebody to come out with a cover that wires into the truck door lock circuit. I’d buy that so freaking fast, lol.

Install is pretty straight-forward. When I switched it to my new truck I did it by myself in about 30 mins. First install took longer because I didn’t really know what I was doing. Bust out the tape measure and line up the rails then plop the cover between them and it’ll go pretty quick.

I got the American Tonneau cover from Tonneaucoversworld.com. They have a bracket kit that works great on the rail system.

does it relocate the rail system few inches down or does the bracket kit just grabs over the existing bed rail ? thanks

would you mind snapping a picture on how it grabs to the bed rail ?
