Thats such a nice setup. A place for everything. To bad my people can barely roll the cords up on the saws. I can go grab 6 circle saws right now and not a single one has the original cord...

Eh... Well this one is sometimes in my truck

That box is missing way to many nail guns. Dammit!

Awesome tool box!...did you beef up rear suspension for some of the added weight?

Lol. I do actually take fine care of my personal ones.

Looking at your profile pic and the pic you just posted, did you used to also have a black box setup too?

I have this same toolbox on my truck and I love it. Very well built, mine is about 4 years old and works as well as the day I bought it.

The little design features like the steel baskets around the lid struts that keep tools and material from getting hung up, the 2 brackets that hold my 4 foot level perfectly out of the way, the separate top rail compartments for tie downs or rope just make it nice to use.

I was concerned before I owned one that the push locks would eventually break, but mine always work no matter how cold it is out (the struts do struggle a little @-30 though)

I believe the clearance I have from underside of toolbox to bed floor is about 11 1/2" or so? I can check in the morning but definitely enough for 20 4X8 sheets of 1/2" plywood.

    I've done a little..
Haven’t seen anyone post the trusty RK box of old:
    B65AA6CC-A088-4E6A-8AAD-F993F28641E4.jpg
These used to be the standard and I still love the paddle latches and rugged construction. These boxes were HEAVY and could support someone standing on them. Hard to find a good used one these days.

I had one of those in a 85 gmc 4x4 with a granny low. That was a great truck.

Thanks for the info. What model # do you have? How does it secure to the truck bed? Is it easily removable if the bed space is needed? yea that woud be great if you can measure under. thanks!

They have a wide variety of boxes too choose from. Not removeable....that would kinda defeat the purpose.

Not a traditional toolbox, but a different option nonetheless :)

EDIT: that's a diamond back cover with their 8" deep toolbox. They have a deeper one, but I didn't want to lose that much bed space under there.

I love mine. Only complaint is you either have to drill into the bottom and use bed bolts or chain to secure it. But still trying to com up with ideas to secure without drilling. Water tight. I don't have a garage and it's never had water or dirt in it.

Customer service was great if ordered through zdog. They sent wrong key for it. They had me go to a locksmith and reimburse the cost to get new keys.

Nice! Great to hear about their CS Dept. Goes a long way.

Yeah I'm not real thrilled about drilling either, did you do it through the bottom?

Is there way to get to the D rings attached to the bed wall once it's in place? Thinking maybe a J hook attached there.

I haven't drilled yet. Going to play around with it to secure it with metal bars and theses tow hooks and a padlock

    Are you wanting it removable?
that's the hook i'm thinking about. A J hook from the box to that hook. Now to find someone with an arm skinny enough and who's back's not all out of whack like mine. :goingcrazy:

I do want it removable. Only a 5.5' bed, sometimes I need it all and the toolbox has to come out. But it fits in the back seat just fine as well with seats folded up.

For over 10 years I worked at a pickup truck accessory shop that sold everything from bugshields to full on suspension fab, wiring, tires, alignments, and of course tons of tool boxes. RKI was a main line we carried and I do agree they are built well but one of the best tool boxes we ever sold was the Truck Trunk. Unfortunately, they are no longer produced but if you find one for sale, buy it. Super low profile, no drill design, capable of holding a bunch of weight, locks across the entire lid. I owned a few of them over the years and finally sold the last one I had a couple years ago. They came in diamond plate aluminum, black diamond plate, stainless steel, black SS.

They also were available in a sliding lid if a hinged lid wasn't your thing.

I'm about to pull the trigger on my ZDog box.

    https://zdogtrucktoolboxes.com/prod...freedom-clips-new-gmcchevy-flush-mount-boxes/

I'm wonder why these would not work with our anchors?

Edit: nvm...I can see our rail anchors are too high.

I have the Zdog like to flush mount pictured above and the powder coating is chipping off, very bad. They offered to replace but the cost of shipping it back, including the crate was more than it was worth. I have to empty mine of and going to have the coating removed and bed liner material sprayed on...pain in the a@@ and it is going to cost me $250.00. I drilled two small holes and put jhooks in the sides and hooked them to the front tiedowns. My main object was to keep it from slipping around.

Would love to see your J hook rig, probably what I will do as well. Sorry about the finish, since I'm getting a blemished one anyway not too worried about that.

How long have you had yours? Mine is black aluminum and no defects after a year of use. I'd buy mine all over again. My bed has rhino lining on it and without it secured it doesn't move around, which is surprising with my crazy driving. Sorry you're having issues with yours.
