you know - I've been in quite a few northern places and wintery places - this snow/freeze/rain/slush/freeze garbage here in western WA is just that - garbage. give me 5-7' snow drifts of ND plains or AK arctic days any day

LMFAO!!! I was thinking about that thread yesterday when I was bombing around in 4WD in the snowstorm we got yesterday. I don't even have a straight snow tire, I've got Michelin LTX AT2 and I've been pretty impressed with them in the snow. This truck is a tank in snow. Not sure what that dude was on about.

I'm more of a wimp I guess, old age - I'll take some of this right now along with more racks.

We got 14 inches yesterday south of Quantico, and to think it was 62 degrees Sunday. Hoping power comes back on today. First snow the Tundra has seen.

found this pic of a boat I picked up few years ago in Feb. I can see the Tundra still had the original exhaust back then.

long live wood heat! We had an ice storm in 1997 that saw thousands without power for over a week. Sleeping in snow suits isn’t fun.
Luckily we had wood heat and I still do to this day as supplementary heat.

hell ya!! wood stoves are the best! my FIL and my uncle (WY and eastern WA) both have them in their houses, and I'm terribly jealous. Once I finally get to move that direction, I'll definitely be putting one of those in the house. Another one is that my parents have a full house gas generator - they were sitting good and happy during harvey (and other power outages).

Chased a little powder this morning. Unfortunately it kept getting wetter and wetter. Not the best photo, but it was a tight parking lot, crazy windy and then I dropped my phone in the snow and gave up.

Snowstorm today, 7 inches of snow over a bit of ice. Pretty boy trucks spinning and getting stuck. My 2021 LR TRD had no problems at all, 2wd all the way. MUCH better than the previous 5 Silverados ever were.

Well I’m going into day 5 tomorrow without power. No timeline to get it back. And we’re getting another 4” of snow tonight.

I also bought two new passenger mirrors. One from 1A Auto and one from Sparks. If the aftermarket looks good, I’ll keep it. If not, I’ll install the OEM. It was hard AF trying to find a Power Folding, heated, Memory, Turn Signal mirror. Mine also has auto dimming but the description says without auto dimming. But based on my VIN that’s what came with it.

Checking on the Quantico ranges. The heavy, wet snow took down lots of the small pines.
