I built these cabinets, mantle, slate hearth, and did the stone on the fireplace about 8 years ago and hung the tv up there. Used to be shiny red brick from wall to wall, Brick hearth and horizontal pine paneling on the upper part of the wall. One cabinet houses the cable and stereo components and the other is storage.

Excuse the mess and childproofing measures (gate and foam on corners of hearth). Some day that'll be gone.

Again my house is a mess but here's the kitchen I did. Only thing I didn't do was the counters. I did The wiring, plumbing, new window, installed hardwood floors, cabinets and backsplash etc. The door to get to garage used to be where the stove is, I moved the door to another room. I put in a 14 foot lvl beam that you can see, used to just have a door opening going into the old kitchen right near the end of the counter. Opened up the space to allow me to put in the peninsula where I have 3 bar stools.

Don’t know if counts as renovation, but I built my family a new house 3 years ago. It’s green energy and I can name on one hand the things I didn’t do. A lot of work after work. Took my retired father and I 8 months9232D5F6-3D50-47BE-A0AE-2108B3D42D8E.jpg EF67CF99-B232-4DA3-B594-114C8C5DC673.jpg 403A0463-ACEE-4C2B-AA38-9CA1CC259F70.jpg D4A409D5-E071-4EC2-80EB-066B572761CB.jpg 8E452002-4696-4EA7-8779-4D25A23305A3.jpg

Nice job Sir nothing better than doing it yourself. My Dad and I build for a living and we also built my house after hours. It takes alot to work all day then work all night on building your own. We had 14 straight months in it and only thing we don't do is Concrete and the furnace.

Really like the old industrial cart and walk plan. One of the old wood Mills used to have the carts when I was in high school.

I chose a room in the house to store and display all of the random crap I had gathered over the years, plus it is the game/movie room for the kid and I. Well, I was tasked with adding a comfortable guest room... we compromised!

I love the shipping container idea. I wish I had the space under my deck.
Nice job on the pool and retaining wall too. Looks great and it was a ton of work I'm sure. I remember following your posts when you were building up the grade around the pool. Great job.

who's using sketchup to mock up your projects? I started playing around with it to plan my next two and its a pretty robust software for being web based. For those not familiar, its a free 3D modeling tool that you can design and even 3d print from. A quick and easy way to figure out if whats in your head will actually work in practice. Here are the rough ups of my next two projects I will be taking on. First will be my new workbench/outfeed table and then i will be building a woodshed which will be all handout timber joinery.

    Nice saw table..
actually built one of these before.
If you have the room in your shop..
you may consider building it wide enough or make a side outfeed extension that flips up to accommodate sheets of plywood that can be managed by your self.
A long level can be clamped down for use as a fence once you get passed your saw.
Don't forget to build a crosscut sled if you dont have one already.

I have since replaced this setup with a portable rousuo (brand) fold up table saw table that has 2 fold up outfeed & 2 side extension tables. This set up has a larger fence that attaches to the table not the saw. It has the capacity to rip up to 50”. Even longer if you keep stacking side extensions.
It also easily fits in my truck back seat area for transport to jobsites.

You will get many happy years of cutting with what you draw up.
    :)

The table will be 4’x8’ with the blade being centered in the table. The stock fence will remain in use with a channel cut into the table allowing for a total rip capacity of 32 inches. Not sure how much I would use a cross cut sled as I also have a sliding compound miter saw but I may build one just in case.

My whole house I just bought had carpet. We changed the kitchen/dining and bathroom to vinyl plank this weekend. Took about 10 hours. It looks so much better. The last pic was what was in the kitchen before hand.
