I use Chem-X Stars and Stripes when I need a quick wash. Can wash and dry the truck, completely touchless in 20 minutes. Chem-x also has Old Glory Touchless available.

Forgive the stupid question. Is it possible to use my regular old air compressor to power a foam cannon instead of buying a dedicated pressure washer?

You could buy a foam cannon for a garden hose, do some research first. You could also opt for an iK foam sprayer.

For $150, if it fits the budget, you can get a Ryobi PW that is great for a backyard detailer.

lets not confuse the poor guy...those are not foam cannons...those are foam guns and will not give the same results as a cannon, not even close.

They are a good solution if you want some suds on your paint though...just got to use the right wash.

Agreed. I will say you still need to pick your wash regardless of using a dedicated foam cannon. Foam cannons can vastly vary as well.

You are not getting any better results with a foam gun compared to the Tornador. The iK will outperform both.

You dont always need a 1” thick layer of foam anyways, people get caught up in the amount of foam, it can be comical really. If you are using a soap that actually starts to break down dirt and debris then it makes way more sense. A ph neutral soap isn’t the best choice for doing that.

The only foam cannon that I know of that works that way is one by Griots Garage....and they call it their 'Air Foamer sudsing gun"......I've never used one, but from the video clips I've seen....it's some pretty thick foam.

    Dang 4-8 cfm @ 90psi....das a lotta air!

Never saw one of those air powered foam guns. I'd still stick with a pressure washer and a foam cannon. Aim for 2gal/min @1000psi in your pressure washing choice.
