Who knew a box of foam and microfiber could cost so much. ~$250 worth of LC HDO pads. 8 heavy cut microfiber, 8 medium cut blue foam, 4 polishing orange pads.

 

That’s a whole lotta work in one box.

 

I could have waited but some of my heavy and med cut CCS pads are showing signs of breakdown in the foam cells. Still work great but saw a killer deal on detailed image and saved almost $75 on this set i pieced together. So in reality it only cost $175. Good thing is the polishing pads get used less frequently so my CCS polishers are still in decent shape so only picked 4 new HDO ones.

 

Love those hdo pads.

 

Have no experience with them but trust LC. In other news, LC just came out with a new (updated) polisher. Runs almost $700 but it is a short throw, long throw, sander, and rotary all in one. Im super tempted to grab one. Called the Udos. Its a new design on the original. Spoke to Ivan at LC (their insanely knowledgeable product rep) about it and it sounds like a beast.

 

I gotta check that thing out. Sounds great.

 

That UDOS is insane but haven't heard many reviews yet since its so new. Ive been following since they teased the release last year. Quite a Machine, LC is a great company to deal with. Oh and you'll love those HDO pads.

 

Looks very impressive. I'm going to start researching it. Sounds very promising.

 

well, went all-in. the wife wasn't too thrilled with the $200 but now she understands after seeing the finished product

Holy crap. Never knew the initial cost of starting out on this detailing journey would cost $400.
Hopefully most of the items last me a little while. Haha. But on the bright side I shouldn't have to buy anything else for sometime. I will post a picture of my loot once I get everything in.
Want to give a big shout-out and huge thank you to @Swfltoyomafia for all the recommendations and advise on what to select and about detailing in general.

Well....I had a screw up a while back. I’d washed the whole fleet and used a ton of towels. The next day we were leaving town for several days. I got distracted with it all and completely forgot I hadn’t put any of them in the wash yet. I didn’t even realize it for a few days after we got back, because I’d set the basket behind some other stuff I was moving around. They sat in that basket soaking wet for close to a week, and were pretty rank and mildewed.
I’ve rewashed them several times and they still stink. I’ve let them soak in soapy water for a while, put vinegar in the wash with them, etc, to no avail. I finally just decided to replace them.
That’s more than what I ruined though. I went overboard like I always do. That’s a 50 pack of the TRC EAGLE Edgeless there, and a few towels I hadn’t tried yet like the Edgeless Griots PFM.
