Show us your latest detailing purchase

I am preparing for my waterless washes on my ceramic coat. I also bought some distilled water for the spray. I know to wipe in one direction and don’t rub...any other advice? Never done it before.

 

Make sure it’s not that dirty otherwise I’d give it a real wash with reset. I still have trust issues with waterless wash. I use it for touch up and next day after wash if pollen is bad.

I know a lot of people use waterless wash and if your ordering CarPro you know it’s good stuff. Honestly after I applied cquartz my truck is so easy to wash I really don’t mind getting out the hose I’ve been wiping off with elixir afterwards.

 

Their stuff is excellent. The reason I wanted to go waterless is A. I have extremely hard water with a ton of minerals B. My only option is to wash in direct sunlight which causes terrible water spots and C. My time is limited With two kids. The truck was ceramic coated last week so in all honesty I haven’t washed it yet...maybe a traditional wash will be quicker?.?.

Sort of a purchase? Finished my trailer. Epoxied the floor, made DIY vertical and horizontal shelves, added some wireless LED lighting, and anchored everything to either the floor or a wall. Included my daughter cause it's her first birthday today and she is pumped I'm done spending evenings outside lol. Been about two weeks of spending several hours outside doing odds and ends.

 

After a bit of chat with @Pudge and @FirstGenVol I went with Griots stuff.


Also got their iron remover. I also use Meguires wash and using the $6 dry towels from Harber Freight and a bag of microfiber towels from Home Depot.

I got to test it on my GTI and it made the car look slick. Tundra gets the full treatment tomorrow morning, no more velcro syndrome.

Great purchase. You won’t be let down. Griots has some awesome microfiber towels also. I love that synthetic clay.

For $10 I almost just bought it but I laughed and put it back when I saw “dirt repellant” lol

 

While it may appear laughable, if it's a wash and wax product, then "dirt repellant" is sort of accurate. That little blurb will probably sell as many bottles as it will cause those same bottles to go back on to the shelf. That being said, it's absurd to market a soap as a 'dirt repellant' to the ATV and off-road enthusiasts. I particularly love the claim that it "prevents future mud from sticking"

I saw a guy buy a Chemical Guys foam cannon for 80.00 at Walmart the other day.

 

Ordered a couple of things from Shine Supply and a couple from Griots last Friday. Placed the orders within 20 minutes of each other.

The Shine Supply order showed up yesterday, and the Griots order shipped yesterday. I love Griots, but dang.

I have not ordered anything directly from Griots in a very long time, with the exception of my G8. I get all of my Griots stuff thru Autogeek

 

I usually do the same, but I wanted some of their empty spray bottles and didn’t see them on Autogeek or elsewhere.

 

Yeah, I like Griots too, but I find that ordering from third parties get you their product quicker than ordering directly from them.

Also @War Machine I'm not sure if they sell the empty Griots spray bottles. At least I'm not aware of them doing so. I love their sprayers, so I reuse and relable everytime I run out of any Griots product.

 

Has anybody compiled a list maybe even on Amazon of everything you need for driveway detailing?

 

I don’t buy much from Amazon to many counterfeit products and the stuff is not cheap. I get better deals from autogeek and detailed image. Autogeek just sent me $50 in reward bucks. Like that.

Guess I don't have a valid excuse anymore to get a new bottle of Griots liquids every time I want to get a replacement sprayer or just a bottle to use for my other liquids.
