I’ve got three rupes for all different sized jobs. I’ve got the LHR75E, LHR12E duetto as well as the nano ibird. I have no complaints. I made my wife’s is350 shine better than new with them. One day I’ll get around to detailing the tundra. That’s why I got the bigger one. I stuck with the rupes line for pads as well I bought the full kits from Autogeek so they came with all the different types of pads. They are definitely very easy to use. After 10 minutes I was able to figure how to use them properly. Makes it easy if you mark up the pad with 4 marks on the backing plate so you can see if it’s spinning.593FF302-A45C-4A58-9599-E6EC17864A28.jpgB5B21C8E-0B01-4184-B56E-7788D9E6F5EB.jpg

I sold the wife by showing her how much it cost to do paint correction and it was cheaper to buy the machines than to do both cars professionally.

I was in a golf shop one time, and I guy was returning a set of irons. The employee asked if anything was wrong with them. He said no, his wife saw the receipt before he had a chance to use them.

My new GG6 showed up today. I threw on my LC 5" backing plate. The 6" that came with it looks pretty good too if I ever wanna go with 6" pads, I have plenty. I'm excited to try it out. It feels much more well built and substantial than my old HF unit.

Anyone have good reason for me to keep the 6" plate that came with it on there, or is the 5" the way to go. I have pads for both and have always used 6" until now. Swapping the backing plate is very easy so I could do it as needed as I am working on a car.

I like the medium sized one for my car. But the bigger one is for the truck cause it’s not as curvy. I bought the nano for the hard to reach areas on the car. Like the little track or piece on the roof it’s about one inch wide.60DF6AC7-7BD5-4DCD-BC87-3BEFCFAEF3A1.jpgE8CE44DF-44C7-4929-91EA-B3E63666C206.jpg5169DFA8-6BC9-46F5-9637-1C1E50E2628F.jpg

So what is everyone’s “go to” polish with the DA? I have been on The Last Cut from The Last Detail guys for a little over a year now.

The last polish I used was carpro essence. I really like it a lot, but can be a little tough to buff off sometimes. Leaves an amazing gloss and you can throw a coating or LSP right over it with no ipa wipe down. It works as a coating primer. It has some decent cut, great for swirls and spider webbing and crazy gloss. Carpro claims it will work as a stand alone protectant as well for 3 months, it contains some sio2.
My other favorite is good old megs m205. If you really load a pad with it you can get suprising cut, I'm talking prime/saturate then the normal few drops...its sometimes enough to not even need compound. Finishes really nice too.

    Beautiful car!
I have always wanted a blue IS. Still do to match my truck, I would love one as a DD but can't afford the yearly expenses

Thank you. Lucky for my vehicles the wife only puts 40 miles a day on them. She goes back and forth with the tundra and car. Not happy when she uses my truck, but she knows how to drive it. It’s just a waste of rubber and miles to take to work though. Is350 isn’t that great on gas either. It’s just a fun car to drive cause I upgraded all the suspension with real F sport aftermarket parts and intake and exhaust to keep factory warranty since I bought it new. Definitely not a good DD cost wise if you have a lead foot.

I have a lead foot lol. I get 11-13 mpg in my stock tundra. I think the idea of a DD is not for me, I'd drive it like I stole it so wouldn't save much, if any on fuel

Wish I had a huge garage space like that to detail the tundra. I’m stuck working outside. jelly.

First time I have ever had a garage, me and the wife saved for 16 years to build our dream house. You notice the garage didn’t get finished. I’m not complaining.

I have the Flex 3401 VRG Dual Orbital Polisher. I’ve got a lot of different types of pads for various applications. Great tool!

I purchased the Flex Kompakt 3. This unit is great for smaller detailed or hard to reach areas. It can run a 3”,2” & 1” pad.

I love my flex 3401, it’s a beast. It was nice when they finally came out with the smaller backing plates. Still have my original PC 7424 as well. It’s good when you just want to zip through with a lite touch up one handed.

Yup it makes waxing fun and enjoyable to do. I have both the large and small backing plate pending what I’m working on.

Is that the glaze or deep gloss? Deep gloss is easy to use so is fusion estate wax. I have them all along with every dodo juice wax made. LOL Only sealant I cant stand is CG jeatseal, it’s way too finicky to work with.

I just put CQuartz UK 3.0 on mine a couple weeks ago. Touch it up with reload every time I wash.

That’s Wolfgang Finishing Glaze. I’ve had good results with Wolfgang’s Concours Series.
