He self-admittedly never washes or had it waxed. He's actually a Toyota car salesman and just got back from Vegas and saw the 2022s. Was going for a multistage but decided to drop it down to a one stage to save some coin because he put a deposit down on his own 2022 lol. He wants me to coat that one. Hopefully he'll take care of it once that comes around :frusty:

Haha I want a new DSLR but can't justify the cost. It's a 12 or 13 year old DSLR. Working with what I got!

Got some time in with the Flex XCE and XFE tonight. The XCE is a brute. That forced rotation is no joke. The XFE's long throw is something I've been wanting for a while and it is so smooth.

Polished the daily up. Used the PTE on all the small stuff. By hand on the even smaller angles. I'm at a stopping point right now. I have some KXK Design Palm Blox (wetsanding blocks) coming in tomorrow. I'll be wetsanding the hood and recutting/polishing it. Then stripping the tape, Solution Finish, give it a day to air out, then Owner's Pride coating the whole thing.

There it is after a Megs compound, polish, 2 coats of Cquartz UK 3.0 then reload.
First time at ceramics and I'm pleased with the end result. Considering the entire process was done outdoors we'll see how things hold up over the the next year or two with regular maintenance.
24 hours cure time, partially in the sun before the rain came down and everything seems to be fine so far.
Purchased the 50ml kit which is far more than required. 30ml would easily do an entire truck twice leaving plenty for wheels, door jambs, calipers and possibly a quick splash on the gf's grocery getter.
Next on the list is to bolting up the running boards and throwing a coat on the BBS wheels.

Awesome man. Did you do a topper of reload after the coating or you didn't have it? Hoping it all does well for ya and holds up!
What car soap will you be washing it with?

I did a topper of reload as we were expecting rain within a 36 hour window. Ended up giving the truck a wash with reset today followed by a blow dry and wipe down. The reload topper makes the ceramic coating crazy slick and like nothing I've ever seen. Gave it another quick wipe with a damp rag and a light shot of reload as our conditions aren't the best this week with an on off rain sun mix in hopes it gives the UK a chance to cure.
Plan to try Gyeon Q2m detailer to maintain as it seems to get better reviews than some of the Carpro products.
The Maguire's ceramic detailer is another I may give go at some point.
Overall I'd highly recommend the product and have just hit the BBS wheels with a coat as well to see if this stuff is the real deal and sheds dust and dirt from the fire roads we'll be on shortly.

I had a choice between the two and was torn. MGM is my current fav although some of the cement Tundra's look great with black accessories and a color I'd be happy with as well.

That's amazing work. If I only had the time, space, and experience to do mine with that much attention to detail... The entire package looks awesome.
What suspension are you running and do you have a favorite ceramic topper?

Radflo 2.5s and JBA UCAs up front with Toytec Boss rear shocks w/ reservoirs and shackles on the rear (3/1.5").

My favorite topper right now is Boost from Glassparency. The slickness from it is unreal. Not a long lasting product, especially on top of a coating...but it smells good and is easy to use hah.

It's SUPER slick...which usually means it doesn't last long as a standalone. But if you're already coated and maintain regularly, it's awesome. Lasts a couple weeks before the slickness disappears. As a standalone I tested it on a vehicle and it gave almost 5.5 weeks before all hydrophobics and aesthetics were gone (edit: I will say the vehicle was garage kept and only saw a hundred or so miles a week driven). I'll only use it as a topper since there are much better standalones that are just as easy to apply.

I was impressed on how long it lasted for the price and found putting it on by hand, taking off by hand seemed to make for better performance.

I just mixed up a bottle of this to try out for spot cleaning and as a drying aid. Apparently it's popular in the detailing community.

Merlin's Majic Elixer - The secret formula revealed! (https://carproforum.com/showthread.php?5214-Merlin-s-Majic-Elixer-The-secret-formula-divulged!)

    The BASIC formula:
50ml/1.7oz of Reload and 50ml/1.7oz of ECH2o in a CarPro 500ml Empty Spray Bottle then topped up with distilled water.

Wife's Camry. One step polish and Undrdog Pro ceramic coating (paint, glass, trim, wheels). Really digging the depth that has come out after its cured for 24 hours.

Anyone got any recommendations to get rid of all of the swirl marks out of a black 2019 altima before ceramic coating with CQuartz uk 3.0? I’ve ceramic coated new cars fresh off the lot with minimal polishing but this one will be a tough job. It has a TON of swirl marks over the years from the automatic car wash. TIA

A lot of variables go into play here. Paint thickness, condition, hardness, if you're using a machine versus by hand, and subjectively what you want the end result to be like. My go-to for 90% of coating jobs is 3D One and a Uro 50/50 pad on a DA or forced rotation machine. A mixture of Angelwax polish/compound if the defects are worse off but I'm still only doing a one step.

You got some great advice in post #2611 from Ckatz. The test spot will be your best friend, to see what pad/product combo will give you the results you're looking for.

Oof a coated death missle warms my heart. Side note, never wax or coat the gas tank indentations. I did it just to see how bad grip would be on corners. Needless to say I almost shit myself in a hairpin when my thighs went sliding off. Immediately polished it off when I got home lol.

Hah I've done it before before I knew much about detailing bikes and legitimately almost low sided because I slipped off (luckily I was on the track and my knee dragging saved me). I wanted to see how slick Undrdog Pro was after a 24 hour cure. Some really nuts stuff. I equate it to when you first spray P&S Beadlock on a panel and buff it off...only it should last much much longer. I just hate always cleaning the thing after a ride in the country. It's already made wipe downs with some detail spray insanely easy.
