I was checking the fit of some black emblem overlays...

 

^^ A clean black ride is just wow, I miss having clean black cars.

My truck was delivered late in November, so haven't had the time to ceramic coat it, but this is my wife's 4runner after just finished it back in July, can't wait to do mine.

 

The prep work isn't all that bad. Once your car is done, the installer can register it and Glassparency sends you the maintenance product. Quick clean and wipe down every 3 months with text reminds for your average person. We all know you'd be out there wiping it down twice a month lol. Once I coat mine, I know that's what I'll be doing.

 

Crispy.

 

Two for one today. Installed new pro grill and gave her a bath and top coat. Used a new product today. Classy chassis by shine supply. This stuff smells ridiculously good and makes giving the wells a sharp look very easy.

 

Some wetsanding of a Cummins swapped Colorado today. Hit 6 other spots, but you get the picture.

Teaching the little brother slowly how to wetsand. The sanding picture was his work. Decent strokes, but you can see some outliers he laid down. Nothing the Dewalt and a wool cut pad can't fix. Original scratch was very minor (guy was retired from the Navy, his service dog got a little jumpy) but a good starting point for him. This panel had been repainted so the paint measured 3mils over the factory paint job. Perfect spot for new hands to learn on.

 

Here are a few from last week. I washed, clawed, polished and then protected with meguiars hybrid ceramic wax.

 

A quick touch up cleaning between the cold days.

 

You use the blue spray bottle or the green hand applied bottle? Meg's Bead Booster (or M799 by the gallon) is an excellent post wash touch-up or light detail spray for a base layer of their ceramic wax.

 

I used the stuff in the green bottle. I put 2 coat of it on, about 12 hours apart. Next time I wash it I'm gonna top it off with turtle wax hybrid solutions spray ceramic, and after that I'll use megs synthetic spray wax as a drying agent after washes.

 

Nice. Yeah the M799 (bead booster in consumer size) is a perfect quick detailer. Full strength can be used as a decent standalone sealant.

 

It was 40 degrees here in Michigan today, not bad looking for 186xxx miles

 

Today’s project is a 2021 pro 6 miles on it. I will be applying a coating to her before she sees much action. I started with wash decon clay wash. Now waiting for her to dry so I can move forward with the prep.

 

Very nice. Any correction to be done on it? If so, what pad(s)/product(s) you have in mind? What coating is going on it?

Gonna take the air compressor to the jams and cracks to get all moisture off of her.

I told the owner not to let the dealer touch it they did no wash to it or wipe down. It still had the stickers on it. The paint needed no correction but did have some little spots that needed some attention.

 

Done on this one. Gotta a taco to do next but it will be later this week.
