Yes I do love the look of it. I actually planned to put Waxaddict Kudos on it, but I must have stored mine improperly for too long. I was getting way too much dust with it.

Took the old truck to the car show. My truck needs a full detail but the paint is shot at this point. This winter I will hopefully take it apart and get the body right and paint it. My buddy next to me with the '72 Chevy won best 2wd

Impatiently waiting to buy a new Tundra so I can build the old truck like I want to.

Just used some chemical guys on the new truck today. Came out nice, but I’ll put more elbow grease into it next time.3AFF3519-8E21-46B1-B5F1-0F0EFBF591E7.jpg

Went back and finished it up. About 6-7 hours or so total between yesterday and today. Just doesn’t seem worth the effort with this color. It looks good, but I probably could’ve gotten close to the same results in an hour.
I really don’t think the polishing made a ton of difference. Wish I’d spent the time on my Tundra instead. I experimented with a few different products and pads. Couldn't tell any difference between them, so pretty much went with Carpro Essence and a black Lake Country pad on 75% of it. Since I wasn’t seeing a lot of difference I just decided to stay with the least aggressive.
It’s either the color doesn’t improve much, or maybe my eyes just suck. (Which they do) Also can’t count out the possibility that my skill level is crap.

Anyway, as reported in another thread, got Hydro2 on it in the rain. This afternoon I went back over it with Opti-Clean, then added Shine Supply Signature Shine.
Also put Powerlock on the windows, and Shine Supply Decked Out on the tires.
Did a good vacuum and interior clean.

One new thing I tried was using Ech20 at waterless wash dilution on the WeatherTech floor mats. Worked very well.

Like I said, it looks good, but hard to tell how much I worked my ass off on it.

It looks really good Jason. I hear ya about your hard work not showing on that color. I actually like the color, one reason was all it really took was a good wash and spray wax to make it look brand new again.

I'm glad you tried the ech2o. I'm a huge fan of that stuff and its many uses. Its one thing that I will never be without.

The essense on LC black is a really nice combo, it comes off easy and is very low dusting. Just need to use light pressure. It adds a lot of gloss too. Once you use it on your truck you will see how well it works, especially after clear cut.

Nice detail job, that's a lot of real estate to cover and it looks awesome.

I use Ech20 a good bit, just hadn’t tried it that way yet. I’d forgotten to spray them off and didn’t want to get the pressure washer back out. And yeah , this will probably be the last time I send this much effort on that truck.

I can't blame you, like you said you could get similar results with a fraction of the work. Wash, ironx, clay and seal should take care of it from here on out. Of course there will be spots that may need to be polished down the road but with that color you can get away with spot polishing for sure.

I had to turn away the detail job or a lifetime yesterday, or so it seemed at first. Buddy asked me to do his black Maserati....wanted 2 stage correction and ceramic and I told him $1k-1.5k to do it right, he said if I also did his black jeep for 2k total it was a deal. I was pumped. Then I took a walk around the car, noticed some things, issues, spots, so o snapped some pics and spoke with my detailing advisor who confirmed my thought to walk away from the Maserati. I noticed orange peel, evidence of a respray, holograms, swirls galore, and some areas that just didn't look right to my untrained eye. The big man confirmed and the deal was off. I may get the SRT Jeep still though, one stage and cquartz is the plan. Of course I have no time to do it so who knows.

@Pudge I started out with just the Best Of Show Wax, and some Speed Shine, but have purchased quite a bit of product from Richard over the years. My main go to's are:

    Boar's Hair Brush
    Speed Shine
    Clay Bar
    Best Of Show Wax
    Microfiber Towels
and, if you can believe it, the Fine Glass Polish.

All good stuff. I love their towels and speed shine. I am wanting to try a glass polish. I'm between griots and carpro, I'm leaning towards carpro ceriglass. Jews the griots work for you. By hand or with a polisher?

Had really good luck using the fine glass polish by hand, for a real polished windshield.

What sucks the most is that is the most work I’ve put in with my polisher to date, and for very little reward.
