Every time I go to the Tricities I take i30 to i40 and it’s a straight shot all the way.
Arkansas is about as boring as it gets though...

I believe just north of Amarillo is Palo Duro Canyon Sate Park. It's beautiful up there.

Arkansas has some of the most beautiful scenic roads. I go there for business about every other month and always find a way to get off the major highway to take a scenic road (northern Arkansas)

I agree- I ride my Harley all over Arkansas. Find the talimena national scenic byway for a breath taking tour of western Arkansas.

I wanna spend a few days out there on my Multistrada and ride those scenic roads. I think the experience would be better on two wheels..

Saw this too late, but I would've suggested the same. It's actually just south of Amarillo, and you're right, it's beautiful.

If you are driving from Gilbert, AZ then take I-10 through NM (I live in Las Cruces), then when you get back into Texas you can take I-20 up to DFW area. Should be faster that way. And if you can that extra 50 minute detour that is only 5 extra miles is well worth the drive.

    Awesome!
What time are you going to be rolling through town?

Not sure on a place yet, we have some decent local options around i30, plus all the chains like cracker barrel, Denny's, etc.
