Looking for a smaller antenna that will get good reception. A lot of stuff I have read has small antennas having very hit or miss reception and easy to break off. Wondering if y’all had any recommendations? Preferably a 6 3/4”.

I have a 6 3/4" stubby antenna from The Antenna Source. I didn't notice any loss of reception when I tested it out. I only tested it once in town though, since I never listen to the radio.

I think the issue with them breaking off is from when people take their vehicles through car washes that still use the rotating brushes. I haven't seen a car wash like that in 10 years or more so I can't speak to it. I took mine through a touchless wash and had no issues.

I second @Outbound. The Antenna Source stubby actually gave me better reception over stock. I tried a couple off Amazon (The Stubby) and one other a they both sucked. It was like driving without an Antenna at all.

I have literally zero reception with my Ronin shorty.

And what I mean by “better” over stock is that I pick up HD radio much faster than the stock and I haven’t noticed any real loss of reception. They explain on their site how they are able to achieve that and it’s not just BS. I’m impressed.

You can find it on Amazon if that’s easier shipping to the north.

Picked up a 13" from "the Antenna Source" and put it on the wifes truck yesterday. She ran it thru the car wash and snapped it right off. Luckily I drilled out the broken stud and got it out with an easy out, and back to factory antenna for now.

I got the Ronin .50 Cal bullet antenna. I mostly use satellite radio but I've been fairly surprised on how good the reception is when I switch to FM radio.

I lost reception with my AntennaSource stubby, nice to see they've updated the design so it can be bent during washes or accidentally. It was probably costing them too many warranty claims.

I believe if your stations were marginal, it'll be worse. If they come in well, you shouldn't have a problem. It's hard to beat antenna physics and design by height. I might try a taller AS antenna next.
